This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, which includes the ability to work from home, while also requiring to be in person as needed at our Lakeside and/or Clayton Corporate HQ campus locations in St. Louis, Missouri.
Responsibilities
Joining our team as an IT Manager offers an exciting opportunity to lead and oversee the 24/7 support of our Data Protection environment. Our team thrives on a strong foundation of Data Protection technologies, driven by a passion for technology and excellence in leadership. As the IT Manager, you will lead a high performing team, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our backup environment. This role is not only about technical expertise but also about strategic leadership, where you will develop and execute plans to optimize Data Protection infrastructure in alignment with organizational goals. You'll foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and collaboration, mentoring a dedicated team of IT professionals. Your proactive approach to managing complex IT environments, coupled with your ability to lead critical incident resolution and drive continuous improvement initiatives, will be pivotal in enhancing our service delivery and mitigating risks. A strong focus on site and cyber recovery will be a key piece to this role. As an IT Manager, you will be responsible for defining the goals, objectives, processes, and resources to support the Data Protection team. Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Oversee and manage a team of data protection engineers with a focus on agility and continuous improvement, providing 24/7 support
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure effective team performance and development
- Coordinate with senior management and other departments to align data protection objectives with organizational goals
- Handle escalations, both internal/external, and manage support from different levels
- Manage tools, systems, and procedures to ensure dynamic management of issues and customer management
- Operational Excellence:
- Own and drive multiple simultaneous efforts and roadmaps within the area through close coordination with various IT teams and external vendors
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to optimize operations and improve efficiency
- Monitor performance metrics and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs)
- Ensure continual process improvement within data protection, including but not limited to: automation of operational tasks and reporting, implementation of enterprise-wide monitoring initiatives, and routine administration tasks
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize the performance and efficiency of data protection infrastructure operations
- Collaborate with senior management to align IT operations with organizational goals and objectives
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, streamline processes, and mitigate risks
- Incident and Problem Management:
- Establish and enforce incident management processes to minimize downtime and service disruptions
- Lead the resolution of critical incidents, coordinating cross-functional teams to restore services expediently
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence
- Project Management:
- Lead and coordinate larger projects, ensuring timely and successful completion
- Collaborate with project teams to plan, execute, and monitor data protection infrastructure projects
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge and understanding of working in an Agile/Kanban development environment, using tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Ability to balance risk with business priorities and applies the appropriate sense of urgency to issues
- Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Ability to establish effective working relationships within all levels of the organization

Qualifications
Required:
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
- Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or immediate surrounding area
- 6+ years of related IT experience
- Must have experience leading and mentoring technical professionals within a complex environment
- Proven commitment to continuous improvement of team members and technology through the capture, analysis, and reporting of key performance, utilization, and cost metrics
- Experience supporting and managing core infrastructure environments, with the ability to quickly develop expertise in data protection, backup, and recovery technologies
- Experience managing 3rd party and vendor relationships and negotiations
- 2+ years of people management experience, to include hiring, 1-1 meetings, career coaching/ mentoring, performance reviews, salary reviews, etc.
- Understanding of site recovery and cyber recovery techniques
- Prior experience and knowledge of Data Protection technologies such as NetBackup, Cohesity Flex appliances, Dell Data Domain, or similar products
- Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
- Awareness and understanding of IP networking
- Ability to challenge current solutions, determine appropriate solutions, and ensure there is alignment across the organization
- Knowledge and understanding of AWS or Azure technologies, products, and services
- Adept at improving outcomes through proactive coaching and development at all levels
