Job Description Summary

About This Role

The work of building a more sustainable world runs on data — and this role sits at the center of it. As Environmental Inventory Manager at GE Vernova, you will own the systems, processes, and analysis that power one of the most consequential corporate climate reporting programs in the energy sector. You will ensure GE Vernova's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory is accurate, credible, and audit-ready — supporting both regulatory compliance and the company's long-term sustainability commitments.

This is a role for someone who finds meaning in precision, who understands that reliable environmental data is the foundation of real climate progress, and who wants their work to matter at a global scale.
You will report to the Environmental Sustainability Leader and collaborate closely with Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS), Finance, and Data Technology teams across the enterprise.

Job Description

What You'll Do

  • Own the annual GHG inventory. Lead GE Vernova's corporate-level greenhouse gas accounting across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions in accordance with the GHG Protocol. Develop and maintain the internal policies and procedures that govern this process.
  • Drive data quality and continuous improvement. Collect, analyze, and manage environmental data — including carbon emissions, energy use, water consumption, and waste — across business units. Partner with the Senior Sustainability Data Analytics Leader and Sustainability Data Quality Manager to strengthen GE Vernova's sustainability data strategy.
  • Support mandatory and voluntary reporting. Contribute to submissions including the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), GE Vernova's annual Sustainability Report, and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) filings. Support the data auditing process for both voluntary and regulatory reporting.
  • Build analytical tools and forecasts. Develop models to evaluate the impact of climate-related initiatives, identify emissions reduction opportunities, and produce dashboards and data tables for senior leadership progress reviews.
  • Strengthen systems and capabilities. Work with controllership and data technology teams to automate sustainability data workflows, resolve discrepancies in reporting platforms and business data systems, and keep pace with changes to international protocols and standards.
  • Enable the broader organization. Train teams on carbon data management best practices, support the development and editing of enterprise standards, and serve as a trusted internal resource for environmental data guidance.

Who We're Looking For
You are an experienced sustainability professional with deep expertise in corporate GHG accounting and a commitment to the highest standards of data integrity and reporting credibility.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Statistics, Environmental Science, or a related quantitative field — or equivalent professional experience
  • Considerable years of experience in carbon management and corporate-level emissions accounting
  • Demonstrated expertise in the GHG Protocol (Scope 1, 2, and 3) and familiarity with emerging frameworks including the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) climate disclosure rules, EU Taxonomy, and CSRD
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Preferred

  • Professional certification such as GHG Inventory Quantifier, International Society of Sustainability Professionals – Sustainability Associate (ISSP-SA), or equivalent
  • Knowledge of renewable energy certificates (RECs), carbon offsets, and market-based emissions mechanisms
  • Experience working with enterprise sustainability reporting platforms or automation tools

Education
A formal education and subsequent Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Environmental Science, or a related quantitative field is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
