At a Glance:
H&P Representative responsible for Automation Directional Drilling.
What you will do:
- Leads and provides supervision for the BGS directional drilling operation at the wellsite that ensures the desired directional path and drilling targets are achieved in a safe and economic manner. Also ensuring correct well plan is being followed.
- Responsible for BHA being assembled as per well/engineering plan.
- Responsible for operation, inspection, maintenance and inventory of motors and downhole tools on rig site. (Some jobs may require working hand in hand with Co Rep for ordering tools)
- Responsible for the generation and content of daily and Final Well reports on services performed. (Motor Reports, Tool usage, inventory records etc.)
- Collaborate with Co Rep and MWD team to ensure BHA Specification and engineering optimization parameters are realized.
- Responsible for all communication from wellsite with Co Reps on location and Internal Personnel (Pod operators, Automation Supervisor’s).
- Responsible for training BGS to Co Rep on location and fielding any questions regarding BGS and any other related H&P services.
- Responsible for (when applicable) supervising, mentoring, and training 3rd party Drillers on BGS and Slide training and any other related H&P services.
- Responsible for following BGS recommendations and reporting back any irregularities with BGS to Pod operators and Automation Supervisors.
- Responsible for optimizing drilling equipment, drilling parameters and strive to meet and exceed all Customer goals and deadlines.
- Responsible for onsite H&P equipment, rig up/down of BGS and working with Field Techs in troubleshooting situations.
- Responsible for representing H&P in a professional manner.
- Responsible for attending onsite pre-spud, curve and safety meetings and complying with customer safety rules and policies.
- Responsible for following H&P Actively Care, safety standards and policies.
- Be motivated, engaged self-starting and always put your best foot forward.
- Establish a good working relationship with the Co Man and Rig Crew’s.
What you need:
- 5 years’ experience as a Directional driller required
- Must be a strong team player with the flexibility to champion change
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, but not required
- Strong knowledge of directional drilling and downhole tools and ability to recognize drilling dysfunction required
- Ability to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment
- Excellent presentation, communication and technical writing skills a plus
- Professionalism is a must, this position frequently represents H&P in operator meetings
- Must have be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and customer awareness
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new problems and situations
- Must have strong PC skills with the ability to adapt to existing programs used by the call center, and the ability to tailor new programs to the needs of the group
