Title:

DG BOSS: Accountant (FN)

  • Administers and monitors workflow in the ROM II computer to ensure accounting of all stocks and reports are accurate.
  • Generate monthly and tri-annual reports to DFAS-CL timely and accurately.
  • Reviews report, analyzes variance, and reports to Ship’s Store Service Activities Supervisor any findings.
  • Maintain records and files of all transactions IAW NAVSUP P-487 instructions.
  • Assign and reconcile POS daily.
  • Troubleshoot POS problem as it occurs.
  • Coordinates daily with warehouse personnel to the accuracy of breakouts, receipts, issues, and linking of barcodes.
  • Assist the Ship’s Store Service Activities Supervisor in determining the high and low limits of each item.
  • Reconcile the difference in payments and invoices (Unmatched Listing) cumulative and monthly including the "Fast Pay" payment listing generated by DFAS.
  • Review and analyze all receipt documents and ensure that appropriate actions are being taken regarding discrepancies in shipment, non-payments or non-receipts of merchandise, and other related discrepancies.
  • Prepares payment vouchers for purchases made locally and overseas.
  • Account for all issues under the Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) of MWR and NSF Billeting.
  • Expedite monthly services supplies.
  • Review and analyze all purchase order documents and ensure the appropriate action is taken regarding discrepancies in shipment, non-payments or non-receipt of merchandise, and other related discrepancies.
  • Performs weekly scanning for each store (stores 1 and 99) to verify Bar Code linking accuracy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and directed.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have extensive knowledge of Retail Operations Management (ROM) II and III systems.
  • Must possess administrative, organizational, and computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • suite including (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work quickly and in a potentially high-stress environment.
  • Strong communication skills and extremely self-motivated when managing communication channels.
  • Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.

EDUCATION:

  • Must have at least a High School diploma required; An associate Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration major in Accountancy, Accounting Management, or Financial Management, based on a 2-year or 4-year course of study from an accredited college or university is highly desired.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in Retail Operations with one (1) year of experience withAppropriated and Non-Appropriated Fund Accounting.
