Title: Senior Engineer, Aftertreatment Performance Analysis - 124168

## Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, Aftertreatment Performance Analysis for John Deere Power Systems located in Waterloo, IA you will:
- Provide technical leadership to a team of performance analysts in modeling techniques, test plan creation and quality assessments of 1D chemical kinetic aftertreatment models
- Identify and lead MBD efficiency improvement projects to aid earlier MBD adoption and improved confidence in program decisions through development of high-quality computationally efficient models
- Plan, collaborate and perform analysis using 1D aftertreatment models to investigate current and future emissions technologies to meet customer needs
- Develop and validate 1D chemical kinetic models for relevant aftertreatment components such as Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), DOC on DPF (DOCF), Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), Ammonia Oxidation Catalyst (AOC), Three-Way-Catalyst (TWC), etc.
- Maintain understanding of latest aftertreatment system technologies and emission reduction strategies for lean diesel and stoichiometric alternative fuel engines

## What Skills You Need
- At least 3 or more years of experience working with diesel or gasoline engine aftertreatment
- At least 3 or more years of experience in engineering simulation and analysis
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated skills in analysis and decision making
- Demonstrated understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, chemical reaction mechanisms and computer programming
## What Makes You Stand Out
- 6 or more years of experience in 1D aftertreatment component calibration, workflow development and aftertreatment system performance simulations
- 3 or more years in catalyst testing and development
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of GT-Suite, MATLAB, Simulink and GitHub
- Master of Science degree (or higher) in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in SI and/or CI engine performance development, testing and simulation
## Education
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical, Mechanical engineering or related engineering disciplines
