About the Opportunity
OST P10 is a ~£15 million project, which involves the refurbishment of a 70-year-old facility to modern standards, with modern equipment. The scope encompassing all disciplines- HVAC, Structural, C&I, Mechanical, Fire and more.
The project is shortly due to enter the detailed design phase with onsite remedial works and early procurement occurring in parallel. There is now a requirement for a Project Engineer to support the Engineering Manager as the project transitions into the next phase.
A Project Engineer is someone who acts as a ‘bridge’ between the design team, project team, site team the Client and external stakeholders to enable work to progress. They are an essential member within the project, ensuring coordination and alignment throughout.
Key Requirements
Maintain scope requirements of the project in collaboration with the Client, including technical queries and design change management.
Support design coordination and interface management across the Multi-disciplinary Design Team.
Support the Engineering Manager as the technical voice of the project to support the PM on all aspects of scope, change control and schedule management and technical risk.
Input into the development, maintenance and delivery a P6 project engineering design schedule to ensure timely delivery, whilst tracking and implement configuration change control.
Implement a business trial of design management software (APHEX) for progress tracking of engineering against agreed hours, scope changes and deliverables.
Engage with supply chain and suppliers for tender processes – supplier capability evaluations, technical query responses, tender workshops and ensuring compliance to codes, standards and trade regulations.
Contribute to project risk management process.
Here's What You'll Need
A degree in Engineering OR HNC/HND (or equivalent) with demonstrable experience.
Experienced in project delivery in highly regulated environments in line with the requirements of relevant regulators both nuclear and non-nuclear is preferred but not essential.
Experience of identifying, implementing, and complying with applicable safety, environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
Self-motivated and proactive with a ‘can do’ attitude.
Comfortable with navigating ambiguity and create clarity.
Keen to learn subjects and topics outside of own sphere of knowledge.
Positive outlook, with excellent communication skills and the confidence to advise and provide direction.
Possess excellent planning and logical organisational skills, with the ability to navigate complex and high-pressure environments, delivering against challenging objectives.
Quickly grasps new tasks, challenges, processes, and techniques.
Demonstrates a strong interest in and aptitude for engineering and project management.
Good understanding of all elements of project delivery, especially those that are closely aligned with successful project handover i.e. Quality, supply chain, commercial.
High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy at all times and applying appropriate validation techniques.
Confident communicating and collaborating across departments and at all levels of the business.
