We are continuously accepting applicationsAs Granulation Operator at Husqvarna Construction in Columbia, SC, you are responsible for utilizing tooling, equipment, and materials for granulating diamond with powdered metals. This position is critical for production of granulated diamond bonds to be used in diamond segment manufacturing.
SHIFT: First shift - 2:30 - 11:00 p.m., Monday-Friday and occasional Saturdays
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mix metal powder/binder/solvent.
- Granulate diamond mix.
- Troubleshoot and recommend corrective actions for process anomalies.
- Mix and pulverize metal powder/binder/solvent.
- Precoat diamonds with metal powder/binder/solvent.
- Build-up diamond coating and screen coated diamonds.
- Follow company policies to ensure compliance with OSHA Safety and Health Regulations, as well as EPA and Environmental Regulations in the granulation process.
Machinery:
- Organize and select proper tooling to fulfill work requirements.
- Clean equipment and prepare for subsequent orders.
- Maintain general knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment operation.
Measurements:
- Quality checks on granulated diamond bonds to determine diamond content, weight and size.
- Weigh materials (diamond, metal powder, binder, solvent).
- Evaluate and confer with Quality Control on manufacturing process inspection techniques and standards.

CRITICAL FUNCTIONAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Solid knowledge of basic industrial math.
- Working knowledge of the metric system of weights and measurements.
- Working knowledge of diamond and design elements.
- Working knowledge of precision balance for weight measurement.
EDUCATION, ABILITIES & EXPERIENCE:
- High School or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift, push/pull and stand for long periods of time.
- Solid basic math skills required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Above average exposure to manufacturing environment.
- Job tasks will require contact with powdered metal segments, sharp edges on machined components, powdered metal dusts and grime associated with manufacturing operations.
- Must wear N95 Mask and dust mask and PPE in compliance with OSHA Regulations.
- Frequently lifting up to 30 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Occasionally push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Walking and standing for long periods of time on concrete floors (full shifts).
- Daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlines.
