We are currently hiring for a Lead Ultrasound Technologist at our Jupiter, Fl facility. This will be a full time position.

The Lead Ultrasound Technologist directs and coordinates activities of the Ultrasound section of the organization.  To perform ultrasound examinations with the highest degree of excellence, providing high quality care and service to the referring physician and patient.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Corroborates patient’s clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a Radiologist.

  • Provides patient education and understands and applies patient relation skills.

  • Prepares patient for procedure; providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety. Positions and immobilizes patients as required for appropriate examination to obtain optimum images of specified area of body requested by

  • Physician, always respecting patient ability and comfort. Selects proper technical factors/settings based on individual patients to achieve clear and concise images. Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during procedures. Practices Universal Precautions. Provides community education as needed. Performs/maintains ultrasound QA.

  • Reviews all images for correct positioning, optimum visualization, and overall image quality. Records/completes exam information to assure reimbursement and provide management data. Identifies ultrasound flaws and artifacts and follows up on their correction in a timely fashion with equipment manufacturer or Radiologist. Maintains archival storage of digitized data as appropriate.

  • Stocks supplies and performs daily equipment maintenance to assure consistency and continuity of operations.

  • Assumes additional responsibilities as directed.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates Degree or equivalent experience preferred.

  • CPR certification required.

  • ARDMS or ARRT(S) required.

  • State license, if applicable.

  • Valid state driver’s license, as applicable.

  • 1-2 years experience in Ultrasound required.

  • Ability to work at several locations.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills.

  • Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.

  • Local travel may be required.

  • The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.

Supervisor Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides supervision of ultrasound employees.

  • Communicates business objectives to staff members and establishes measurements for these objectives.

  • Coordinates all ultrasound sites to assure highest quality studies, adequate training and staffing.

  • Directs work activities, assists staff with establishing priorities, workload balancing, problem resolution, and provides technical assistance.

  • Analyzes and allocates resources to assure efficient and effective use of manpower, facilities, equipment and physical space thereby improving through put.

  • Lead by example to demonstrate NERAD’s commitment to customer service and to ensure high employee morale at all times. Builds a positive stimulating work environment that supports the staff’s development.

  • Be sensitive to employee concerns and take proactive steps to address known issues prior to them escalating.

  • Coordinates/participates in research efforts on behalf of NERAD.

  • Cooperates with peers from other departments to resolve problems in a proactive manner.

  • Encourages constructive criticism in an effort to improve effective two-way communications among peers, employees and other business associates.

  • Develops and monitors Quality Management Indicators to ensure quality of service and compliance with standards for patient care.

  • Gathers and analyzes data and takes appropriate action to ensure business objectives are achieved.

  • Participates in establishing and carrying out Ultrasound marketing strategies.

  • Initiates action to address procedural and processing problems that jeopardize departmental efficiency.

  • Conducts monthly meetings with staff and manager to distribute information, educate and resolve staff issues.
