Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Unit Manager (LPN) to provide clinical leadership and oversight for a resident care unit. This role is responsible for coordinating resident care, supervising nursing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting exceptional resident outcomes through effective communication and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily clinical operations of an assigned resident care unit
- Ensure residents receive quality care in accordance with physician orders and individualized care plans
- Supervise, mentor, and support nursing staff, including CNAs and LPNs
- Monitor resident conditions and ensure timely follow-up on changes in status
- Conduct rounds and address resident, family, and staff concerns
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed
- Review and maintain accurate clinical documentation
- Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations
- Support survey readiness efforts and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians, therapy staff, families, and other departments to promote positive resident outcomes
- Assist nursing leadership with staffing, training, and employee development initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Current, unrestricted LPN license in South Carolina
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred
- Strong understanding of resident care planning, clinical documentation, and regulatory compliance
- Experience managing and supporting nursing staff preferred
Licenses & Certifications
- Current CPR certification
- Must maintain all required continuing education and licensure requirements
- Must remain in good standing with the South Carolina Board of Nursing
Skills & Abilities
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferred
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
