Description

We're seeking someone to join our team as an Associate in Branch Operations Asia - India Cash Equity Operations to support the end-to-end equity trade lifecycle, client servicing, settlement oversight and operational risk management for one of Morgan Stanley's fastest-growing institutional equity businesses.

In the Operations division, we partner with business units across the Firm to support financial transactions, devise and implement effective controls and develop client relationships.

This is an Associate level position within the Equity Operations job family

Execute processes/functions and/or support process management and project efforts, leveraging knowledge of the systems, markets and instruments that influence the team.
Recognize risk in day-to-day processes to draw out the key issues and contribute to process improvements.
Build relationships within team and internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge to contribute to team output.
Participate in projects and initiatives, aiding in solution formulation with a focus on timely execution.
Support the end-to-end cash equity trade lifecycle including trade validation, allocations, confirmations, exchange and broker reconciliations, and settlement oversight.
Investigate and resolve trade, cash and position breaks while partnering with Front Office, Middle Office, Technology, Custodians, Brokers and Market Infrastructure participants.
Monitor key operational controls, regulatory obligations and client service deliverables to ensure accurate and timely processing of institutional equity transactions.
Identify opportunities to enhance controls, streamline workflows and drive automation initiatives that improve efficiency and reduce operational risk What you'll bring to the role:
Ability to establish clear goals and priorities, and address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance and supervision.
Subject matter expertise in business area supported, client requirements, and ability to ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests.
Culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values.
Understanding of Cash Equity Operations processes, including trade support, client servicing, exchange interactions, reconciliations and settlement controls.
Experience in identifying and resolving trade, cash and position exceptions while maintaining a strong risk and control framework.
Ability to build effective partnerships across Trading, Sales, Technology, Compliance, Finance and Operations teams in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in process improvement, automation initiatives and operational change management is advantageous.
At least 2 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
