Systems Engineering Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking an operational, highly collaborative Systems Engineer Lead to drive the planning, execution, and scheduling of technical and work instructions for the United Kingdom National Airspace System Replacement (UK NAS-R) program. In this role, you will be the core technical catalyst responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of technical documentation and step-by-step procedures executed by field and support technicians.

 

By bridging the gap between high-level systems architecture and ground-level execution, you will ensure that deployment and operations teams are equipped with standardized, repeatable, and safety-compliant blueprints to support critical airspace modernization.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Work Instruction Lifecycle: Own the end-to-end strategy, planning, execution scheduling, and continuous maintenance of all technical and work instructions utilized by technicians across the UK NAS-R program.
• Knowledge Management & Frameworks: Develop, deploy, and sustain repeatable knowledge management frameworks that incorporate industry standards to streamline service delivery operations.
• Data-Driven Process Improvement: Collect and evaluate operational data to analyze technical workflows, focusing on driving measurable gains in productivity, system scalability, and procedural innovation.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Training: Facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions and structured technical training for internal operations teams and external customers; organize cross-functional meetings and author high-impact presentation content.
• Field Validation & Team Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering leadership and test engineers to validate instructions via real-world scenarios, rapidly adapting documentation to meet evolving mission goals, deliverable requirements, and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience. OR Master's in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Technical Communications, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline and 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.
• Engineering & Planning Toolsets: Advanced proficiency with modern documentation platforms, task-tracking systems, and project scheduling tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence or Microsoft Project).

Preferred Qualifications

• Aviation Domain Expertise: Strong familiarity with Air Traffic Management (ATM) concepts or large-scale civil/military airspace infrastructure programs.
• Direct professional background supporting UK NATS infrastructure, legacy UK airspace replacement initiatives, or UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulatory documentation baselines.
• Familiarity with safety-critical software compliance and change management standards (e.g., ED-109A/DO-278A).
• Formally recognized industry credentials, such as ITIL Certifications (e.g., ITIL v4) or Project Management professional credentials (e.g., PMP).

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
