This is a General Labor position in our Shipping/Receiving Department. This individual will operate a crane and/or assist in loading/unloading trucks and building loads on second shift in an outside environment. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lift, clean, and repair dunnage as needed
• Identify materials or products for loading
• Build loads using crane
• Load/Unload items such as poles on flatbed trucks
• Operate equipment and machinery in a safe, secure, and productive manner (overhead crane, nail gun, chop saw)
• Complete required paperwork
• Make recommendations to resolve any damage or defects found in products
• Wear required personal protective equipment and follow facility safety regulations
• Maintain a safe and productive working environment

  

Required Qualifications

• The ability to use hand tools and power tools including (nail gun/chop saw)
• The ability to take online training and complete paperwork as needed
• The ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions
• The ability to pay attention to detail and follow work instructions
• The ability to calculate simple mathematics and accurately read a tape measure
• The ability to communicate and interact with coworkers in a positive manner
• The ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of people
• Must have a high awareness for safety at all times
• Must be a person of passion and integrity who has the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Previous experience operating large forklift or overhead crane
• Experience in an industrial Shipping/Receiving environment
• The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues
• The ability to establish priorities and reorder priorities when necessary
• The ability to inspect, spot, and report damage to maintain a quality product
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs,
• Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, squat, stoop, push, pull, reach, grasp, hold and carry for various periods of time
• Able to wear required PPE at all times:  Hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, gloves, reflective vest, long sleeves, long pants, steel toed boots with built in met guards, face shield and additional PPE as needed according to area. (Clothing and boots not provided by company).
