Management Level:
P5SUMMARY: This position will assist in performing a variety of technical and professional job responsibilities related to managing consistent food safety and quality programs for assigned national account customers within Poultry National Accounts and FSVAP. Specific responsibilities include evaluating, validating, and closing time-sensitive customer claims and complaints, with primary support for claims entered through the customer complaint management system. This position will coordinate claim accuracy validation, plant data review, submission of information to the internal customer support team, corrective action responses, claim closure, and trend reporting to support customer scorecard performance, KPI expectations, and contract negotiations.
Other specific responsibilities include assisting FSQA leadership in establishing a national accounts FSQA approach for assigned retail and strategic customers through weekly and monthly quality reporting, weekly product evaluations, and in-plant data collection to create capable process specifications. This position will also serve as a key FSQA resource for second-tier Poultry customers and other strategic growth accounts that require specification alignment, new product development support, customer onboarding, onsite customer or plant engagement, and immediate complaint resolution.
This role will manage weekly Tyson Distribution product evaluations and quality complaint follow-ups to support growth in distribution channels and improve customer execution. The position holder will serve as a food safety, regulatory, and quality resource for national account customers and internal cross-functional teams. This requires working knowledge of poultry manufacturing processes, product specifications, customer requirements, complaint systems, plant data, corrective action processes, and regulatory and food safety expectations. The role will require strong working relationships with Business Unit partners, plant teams, National Accounts, FSVAP, customer contacts, and other Shared Services functions.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Animal Science, Meat Science, Food Science or equivalent work experience.
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of related education and/or professional experience in FSQA is required; Poultry manufacturing experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook required. SafetyChain system experience preferred. Experience with data analysis and reporting required.
Communication skills: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Ability to effectively communicate all levels of leadership and customers.
Special Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, follow up, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 10-15 times per year. Some overnight travel and occasional night work are required.
