Overview
The Community & Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing the property's integrated marketing strategy. The position reports jointly to the property Director of Sales and Marketing, with strategic oversight from the Highgate Corporate Marketing team, works closely with the Brand team at Atelier Ace as an extension of the brand. The role translates property commercial goals and Ace brand priorities into relevant content, marketing initiatives, partnerships and community programming that enhance the guest experience, strengthen the hotel's position, drive room revenue and support group business. This is a hands-on marketing role with a strong community-building and creative mindset, requiring the ability to cultivate local relationships, develop activations and bring brand campaigns to life while effectively managing agency and brand partners and measuring marketing impact.
A successful Community & Marketing Manager is a connected presence in the local community, plugged into the music, art, fashion, design and nightlife scene and able to identify cultural moments and relationships that are relevant to Ace Hotel New York. They are creative, resourceful and proactive, with strong judgment and the ability to turn opportunities into thoughtful marketing initiatives, partnerships, activations and content. They are equally comfortable curating compelling activations, driving creative content, analyzing performance, developing packages and offers, collaborating with Sales and Revenue, briefing agency partners and working with Atelier Ace to bring the brand to life at the property level.
Responsibilities
Commercial & Marketing Strategy:
- Develop, manage & own quarterly property marketing goals, integrated commercial strategies, activation plans, community engagement initiatives and content calendars aligned with hotel business objectives, revenue opportunities and Ace brand priorities.
- Curate an event marketing strategy mapped to quarterly revenue goals, combining local programming, artist and DJ bookings, and strategic brand partnerships that generate content, drive engagement and increase room and group bookings
- Partner with Revenue Management to understand occupancy forecasts, booking pace, need periods and market opportunities, translating insights into targeted campaigns, packages and offers designed to stimulate room demand and direct bookings.
- Partner with Sales to identify group business & catering priorities and develop marketing initiatives, creative content and sales collateral that support lead generation, conversion and visibility within priority segments.
- Use competitive, market, guest and performance data to identify demand-driving opportunities, inform marketing priorities and optimize activity based on measurable business impact.
- Lead relationships with external marketing agencies, establishing clear priorities, briefs, timelines, deliverables and performance expectations, and ensuring resources are focused on the property's highest-priority business needs.
Brand, Digital & Content:
- Lead marketing campaigns and day-to-day content planning for the property, communicating objectives, creative needs, timing and deliverables to agency partners and internal teams, ensuring all content ladders back to a measurable commercial goal.
- Develop and oversee property content across social, web, email and other relevant channels, balancing hands-on creation with strategic direction and agency collaboration.
- Lead the property's email, organic and paid social strategy in partnership with agency teams, ensuring cohesive content, calendars and channel plans support awareness, engagement and conversion to bookings.
- Develop and manage property briefs for the creation of digital, social, physical and marketing collateral, providing clear direction to internal and external creative partners and ensuring work is timely, effective and on-brand; work with the Atelier Creative team to ensure content and messaging is clear, effective and reflective of brand values.
- Work closely with Atelier Ace and Highgate Corporate Marketing to leverage broader brand initiatives, campaigns, resources and expertise for the benefit of Ace New York.
- Communicate quarterly marketing initiatives, content and programming calendars to Highgate Marketing, Ace brand and agency partners in a timely manner
- Manage digital and SEO agency partners, providing strategic direction across performance marketing, SEO, budgets, briefs and creative, while ensuring website content, keyword strategy, metadata and other digital touchpoints are optimized to improve organic visibility, drive direct bookings and support loyalty.
- Manage the property website, event pages, Google Business Profile, OTA merchandising and other digital profiles, ensuring content is accurate, current, SEO-optimized and aligned with brand and business priorities, including creating and maintaining event pages for all programming initiatives.
- Monitor digital reputation and recurring guest feedback, identifying insights that may inform marketing communications, content, programming or guest experience priorities.
Partnerships & Cultural Programming:
- Serve as a property’s connector to the local community, building relationships with the hotel’s F&B vendors, relevant artists, musicians, DJs, designers, tastemakers, cultural organizations and brand partners.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with relevant local partners, artists, community tastemakers, influencers and content creators, identifying hosting, content collaboration and partnership opportunities that support quarterly marketing goals, strengthen market visibility and reach new audiences.
- Proactively identify cultural opportunities, partnerships and programming that strengthen Ace Hotel New York's market position and support defined business objectives, including room demand, group business, local engagement, CRM growth, earned media and brand visibility.
- Develop and support cultural programming across art, music, design, fashion, nightlife and the creative community, ensuring initiatives align with Ace brand priorities and quarterly business goals.
- Manage influencer, creator, media and brand partnerships, identifying hosting and content opportunities based on quarterly marketing priorities and business objectives.
- Lead on-site production for programming and activations, coordinating creative, F&B and production needs with relevant partners and ensuring programming is effectively promoted across digital, social, email, partnership and local marketing channels.
- Develop and negotiate partnership and barter agreements in collaboration with appropriate property and corporate stakeholders, ensuring clear deliverables and mutually beneficial value.
- Partner with F&B leadership and outlet operators to develop marketing plans, content and activations that strengthen the guest experience, increase awareness and support outlet traffic through organic and paid channels
- Partner with Sales and Highgate Corporate Marketing to support media opportunities, on-property media tours, photo shoots and other initiatives that strengthen the property's profile.
Budget, Reporting & Performance Analytics:
- Manage the allotted marketing and Music & Entertainment budget in collaboration with the property DOSM, prioritizing spend based on content & business needs, revenue and performance.
- Own monthly marketing reporting to leadership and the broader organization, connecting campaign, content, digital, programming and partnership performance to business outcomes including room demand, direct bookings, group sales, CRM growth and brand engagement.
Qualifications
- At least 3+ years' experience in Marketing, Communications, Event Production or Content Creation (hospitality industry experience essential).
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement integrated marketing strategies, creative content & campaigns with a clear understanding of how marketing initiatives contribute to room demand, direct bookings, group business and brand growth.
- Working knowledge of digital marketing and SEO fundamentals, including Google Analytics, Google Search Console, keyword strategy, website optimization and paid social/search, with the ability to manage and evaluate agency partners.
- Strong presentation and communications skills; proficiency with content and design tools such as Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Canva, and native short-form video/editing tools (CapCut, Reels).
- Deep understanding of Ace's brand sensibility and strong awareness of New York's cultural landscape, including relevant developments across art, music, fashion, design, nightlife and hospitality, along with a strong understanding of upcoming events, openings and key cultural moments
- Demonstrated ability to identify trends and cultural opportunities and translate them into relevant marketing initiatives, partnerships, programming and campaigns, including ROI and KPI measurement.
- Strong creatives sensibilities & ability to identify relevant opportunities, shape actionable briefs and guide agency partners toward social-first campaigns that feels timely, brand-right and commercially useful
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with General Manager, Sales, Revenue, F&B, Operations, Highgate Corporate and external partners.
- Ability to establish & maintain relationships across the local creative, hospitality and business communities
- Strong creative mind with a self-starting, go-getter attitude — comfortable identifying opportunities and creating content independently, with minimal direction.
- Ability to organize events and experiences that generate compelling content and drive brand affinity.
- Knowledge of social media management, scheduling and content platforms such as Hootsuite, Later, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, Wordpress, etc.
