Position Overview
We are seeking a visionary and experienced Business Intelligence (BI) Team Lead to join our Services Operation unit in Bogota. As the head of a dynamic and multi-disciplinary team, you will be instrumental in shaping our data strategy and driving business value through powerful insights. You will lead a talented group of Data Scientists, AI Experts, and Visualization Professionals, fostering an environment of innovation and analytical excellence. This is a critical role responsible for elevating our team's capabilities, streamlining the development of cutting-edge BI solutions, and ensuring our practice remains at the forefront of the AI revolution.
## Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of data specialists, fostering their professional growth and ensuring a collaborative, results-oriented culture.
- Strategic Direction: Define and execute the BI roadmap, aligning analytical initiatives with overarching business goals to solve complex challenges and identify new opportunities.
- Solution Development: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of BI solutions, from requirements gathering and data modeling to the development of insightful dashboards and predictive models.
- Insight Elevation: Champion the transition from descriptive reporting to advanced prescriptive and predictive analytics, empowering stakeholders with forward-looking, actionable intelligence.
- AI Integration: Drive the strategic adoption of new AI and machine learning technologies to enhance our analytical capabilities, automate processes, and unlock deeper levels of insight from our data.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key partner to senior leadership and business stakeholders, translating their strategic questions into analytical frameworks and delivering clear, impactful findings.
- Operational Excellence: Establish and enforce best practices for agile development, data governance, and quality assurance to ensure the delivery of robust, scalable, and reliable BI solutions.
- Innovation & Evolution: Stay abreast of the latest industry trends in AI, data science, and visualization, and champion a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
## Qualifications & Experience
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Data Science, or a related analytics field.
- Proven track record of leading, managing, and developing technical teams comprised of data scientists, analysts, or BI developers.
- Demonstrable experience managing the full project lifecycle for complex analytics and BI solutions.
- Strong, foundational understanding of data warehousing principles, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
- An engineering or similar technical background is highly preferred.
## Required Skills
- Technical Proficiency:
- Expert-level knowledge of data visualization, with extensive hands-on experience in Tableau.
- Deep understanding of SQL and experience querying large, complex datasets.
- Strong familiarity with data science concepts and programming languages (e.g., Python, R).
- Knowledge of AI/ML model development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Starburst, Databricks) is a significant plus.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a passion for mentoring talent.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to distill complex analytical concepts into clear, concise insights for executive audiences.
- Strategic mindset with strong problem-solving and project management capabilities.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required.
