Student - Agent of Change: Project Leader

The opportunity

The Office of Diversity Programs (ODP) at Southern New Hampshire University seeks experienced returning student leaders to serve as Agents of Change – Project Leaders. This advanced leadership role is designed for student employees who have demonstrated strong initiative, professionalism, and commitment to fostering belonging and inclusion at SNHU.

Project Leaders serve as project managers and peer leaders within the Office of Diversity Programs. They provide strategic leadership for major departmental initiatives, oversee assigned projects from event planning* to assessments, mentor new student staff, and collaborate with campus partners to create impactful educational and community-building experiences.

*A primary responsibility of this role is providing leadership for ODP’s largest annual signature event, the Soul Food Dinner, while also supporting additional departmental priorities throughout the academic year. Soul Food Dinner planning experience is required.

Hours: Various shifts are available and are typically between the hours of 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM (Monday -Friday) with some weekend shifts required.  Each employee’s schedule is developed in tandem with departmental needs and student worker availability.  It is expected that all student employees attend weekly staff meetings (currently scheduled on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 PM).  Students are generally scheduled for 8-12 hours per week.  This position is in-person only.

Duties and Responsibilities are unique for each role but include:

• Collaborate with team members to plan and execute 2–6 monthly programs or events. Responsibilities may include menu planning, guest coordination, speaker outreach, event setup/breakdown, and decorations.

• Create engaging digital and print content to promote events and educational messaging via social media channels, email, educational materials, videos, bulletin boards and flyers.

• Support daily center operations such as maintaining a welcoming and organized lounge space, managing inventory, copying and filing documents, and shopping for event materials.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least ONE semester of successful service as an Agent of Change or comparable campus leadership role (Resident Assistant, Student Organization Officer, etc.)
• Experience in planning at least ONE previous Soul Food Dinner event
• Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion concepts
• Knowledge of basic computer/technology tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, Canva, video/digital imaging, etc.)
• Familiarity with social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok
• Current enrollment in an SNHU Undergraduate or Graduate Day program
• Positive standing with Community Standards and Academics

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
