Description
This position reports directly to the Chief Deputy Treasurer and provides extensive customer service both face-to-face and by telephone. Work involves high-volume payment processing, DMV transactions, collections support, and detailed treasury administrative functions—including compliance-driven documentation—in an automated, busy, and often seasonal fast-paced work environment.
Processing customer payments at the counter with accuracy and efficiency, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality customer service.
Processing mail-in and drop-box payments with precision and consistency.
Answering customer account questions, in person, over the phone and via email, using effective communication, active listening, and problem-solving.
Working at the DMV counter, taking customer payments and issuing titles, registrations, license plates, handicap passes, EZ Pass transponders, and driving records, while ensuring compliance with DMV regulations and identity-verification standards.
Daily receipt balancing, demonstrating reliability, numerical accuracy and adherence to financial controls.
Quarterly petty cash balancing, following established procedures and maintaining accurate documentation.
Providing customer phone support, offering professional and responsive assistance in a fast-paced environment.
Processing mail and researching returned mail using Clear to verify customer information and support accurate account resolution.
Administering Lifetime Dog License Program, including processing payments, updating rabies information, issuing tags and assisting customers with program requirements.
Running veterinarian reports to ensure accurate tracking of rabies compliance and doc license eligibility.
Sending monthly invoices generated from veterinarian reports, ensuring accuracy and timely distribution.
Sending monthly rabies reminders to maintain compliance with local and state licensing requirements.
Creating and maintaining tracking spreadsheets for PCI and payment portal issues and working with vendors to resolve identified problems in a timely and accurate manner.
Verifying daily work packets for completeness and audit compliance, filing them accurately, and maintaining and safeguarding the integrity of the file system where these records are stored.
Weekly verifying, signing, and uploading the Accounts Payable register, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established financial procedures.
Serving as backup for uploading remote deposits to the bank, following established financial procedures.
Serving as backup for downloading and posting electronic payments from multiple sources, researching discrepancies, and ensuring accuracy and adherence to established procedures.
Serving as backup for DMV final review, packaging and delivery to DMV HQ, ensuring compliance with DMV CSCOM standards.

Graduation from high school.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Patient, service-oriented, pleasant, outgoing and detail-oriented.
Effective spoken and written communication skills.
Skill in the operation of office machines (10-key, fax, computer, copier, printers, scanners, etc.)
Strong basic math skills, with the ability to make rapid and accurate computations.
Ability to perform detailed work accurately, maintain follow-up, and assist customers—both pleasant and unpleasant.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Basic typing skills (25 wpm).
Additional Desirable Qualification:
Spanish fluency is a plus.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
Obtaining the Master Governmental Deputy Treasurer designation within 3 years, contingent upon available training budget funds, and actively pursuing required coursework and professional development to meet all certification standards.
