What You Will Do
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
DePaul Community Health Centers operates eleven Federally Qualified Health Centers in theGreater New Orleans area. DCHC is committed to improving the health status of ourcommunity and to continue a long tradition of service in this market. DCHC is seeking anOptometrist to provide clinical care for Community Health Centers. The doctor will have fulltech support and a fully equipped clinic.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES
● Assumes overall responsibility for patients receiving care in the Clinic.● Works in tandem with other departments to ensure a collaborative, team-orientedenvironment.● Develops treatment plans in collaboration with patients, as well as educates and advisespatients on medical issues. Diagnose and treat refractive disorders.
● Diagnoses and treats ocular disorders caused by age-related illnesses.● Examines, diagnoses, treats, and manages diseases, injuries and disorders of the visualsystem, the eye, and associated structures.● Identifies related systemic conditions affecting the eye.● Enters patient information and completes required clinical documentation in the electronicmedical record.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. According to the special event type, some workmay be performed outside with varying temperatures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
● Must have Louisiana OD License● Must have at least 1 year of experience● Must have experience working with a diverse population● Must have excellent communication skills, including verbal and written● Must be computer literate
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Three years of Optometry experience in a community healthcare clinic setting.Bi-lingual and Experience with Compulink software is a plus.
