Responsible mainly for wooden works and assistance on Carpenter Maintenance and Repairs under Carpenter supervision.

Responsibility and Authority

• Participate in the daily activities of the deck operation and be available if any emergency, which requires their participation, occurs.
• Keep the Carpenter updated on assigned duties and jobs and follow up on the same
• Assist Carpenter in the inventory of equipment and consumables.
• Assist Carpenter in Fresh Water Loading operations and on properly maintaining all the equipment in accordance to USPH regulations and more generally in accordance with PH regulations..
• Familiarize with the USPH rules pertaining to potable water filling and storing. Clean Carpenter's workshop air ducts and filters after cleaning, as specified.
• Attend mooring stations as instructed by the Staff Captain.
• All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Holds Basic Safety Course Certificate and appropriate licenses and certificates as required by regulations.
• Good knowledge of wooden works and manual practices with carpentry tools and equipment in general.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Company SMS.
• Knowledge of the vessel he/she is assigned to.
• Good organization skills including but not limited to:

  Seamanship

  Team Building

  Communication

  Conflict Resolution

  Customer Service
