Job Description:

Summary:

The National Controls Support Specialist I provides technical assistance over the phone to on site field technicians and end users of AAON.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Answers and solves National support calls on AAON controls.
  • Assists in testing and troubleshooting AAON digital controls.
  • Performs job site startup and troubleshooting.
  • Assists with both on site and off site training on AAON controls.
  • Performs administrative duties associated with controls support position.
  • Assists with training new National controls support personnel.
  • Tests control boards that have come back from AAON as failed boards.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school or higher education: or two to four years related experience and/or training with one to three years of commercial HVAC experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Automation is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems and equipment.
  • Ability to analyze technical issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and related documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with standard office technology and business software applications.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Willing to be on call.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily performed in an office environment.
  • Exposure to seasonal hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, and industrial environments during site visits.
  • Compliance with all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
  • Lift up to 10lbs.
  • Occasional travel required to support field service activities and customer issue resolution.
