Description
- Complete and file all required record-keeping forms/charts upon resident admission, transfer, and/or discharge.
- Chart nurses' notes and care plans in a clear, informative, and descriptive manner that accurately reflects the care provided to residents and their responses to such care.
- Administer medications and document the process in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to established policies.
- Deal tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, and relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care.
- Exhibit leadership and supervisory abilities, and work effectively and harmoniously with, and supervise, other personnel.
- Plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to ensure quality care.
- Maintain patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm while handling challenging residents.
- Be flexible and willing to work any shift as required.
Experience and Skills:
- Licensed as a Vocational Nurse (VN) through the California Board of Vocational Nursing.
- Verification of CPR (BLS) and First Aid certification.
- Background clearance, TB screening, and successful completion of a health examination by a Los Angeles Jewish Health Nurse Practitioner or M.D.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a rehabilitation setting.
- Strong clinical and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
