Description

Under the direction of the Records and Information Director, the Imaging Technician will apply the knowledge of federal and State of Ohio laws and local standards regarding government records to the daily operations of a public records repository; will assist in the organization and coordination of office operations; and will perform related work as required.    

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Assists with the scanning and digitization of county agency records. Assists Digital Archivist with the accessioning, processing, and preservation of electronic and born digital records in digital preservation repository. Responsible for converting electronic records from one digital format to another and creates indexes for records. Prepares documents, files, and books for digitizing. Checks for proper order and completeness as instructed, creating targets needed for proper and consistent records identification.

Assists Outreach Archivist with historical research, and the planning, researching and implementation of exhibits.

Assists Administrative Coordinator on public records requests and special projects as assigned.

Performs others duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.Completion of core coursework for Associate’s Degree in a field related to History, Records, Archives or Library Service Management; 24 mos. of related experience (imaging, scanning and digital preservation); valid Ohio Driver’s License.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above may be substituted for education and/or experience required.  Education and Experience may not be substituted for mandated licensure/certification.
Predictable and regular attendance is required.

Travel may be required.

Kneeling, stooping, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.  

Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to odors, dusts, mold, poor ventilation and work space restrictions, and inclement weather.
