OVERVIEW
We are seeking a hands-on Solution Architect to lead the architecture strategy, modernization, and governance for the Indirect RV & Marine Lending Origination domain. In this role, you will drive target-state solutions, lending platform transformation, enterprise integrations, and architecture governance while collaborating closely with business, product, delivery, and technology teams.
The ideal candidate will possess a strategic yet hands-on approach, with strong expertise in Indirect RV & Marine Lending, enterprise integrations, and cloud-native architecture. You will be capable of driving architecture from business capability definition through implementation and production adoption, ensuring alignment with governance processes and stakeholder expectations.
Location: Chicago, IL (Remote with local candidates expected in-office on Mondays and Thursdays)
Contract Length: 3 months with the possibility of extension
W2: $89/h
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own the end-to-end Solution Architecture for Indirect RV & Marine Lending initiatives.
- Develop and maintain Business Capability Maps, Current-State and Target-State Architectures, Solution Architecture Documents, Integration and Data Flow Diagrams, and Architecture Governance.
- Translate business objectives into scalable, secure, and resilient technology solutions.
- Architect solutions supporting the complete lending lifecycle, including dealer onboarding, customer acquisition, application intake, KYC, fraud prevention, underwriting, pricing, document management, funding, loan booking, and servicing handoff.
- Design and govern real-time, near real-time, batch, and event-driven integrations.
- Implement API-first and Microservices architectures, ensuring enterprise integrations with Loan Origination Systems, Core Banking Platforms, Servicing Platforms, and Credit Bureaus.
- Lead LOS modernization and cloud transformation initiatives, developing migration and coexistence strategies between legacy and target-state platforms.
- Produce high-quality architecture artifacts and executive-level documentation.
- Lead architecture reviews and secure approvals through Technical Design Review Committee and Architecture Review Board.
- Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Risk, and Data Governance standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of technology experience with significant Solution Architecture experience.
- Deep expertise in processes and dealer ecosystems.
- Experience working with multiple teams across various architecture functions and clearing architecture decisions through governance processes.
- Hands-on experience delivering enterprise-scale lending solutions.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Expertise in API-first architecture, Microservices, event-driven architecture, and messaging patterns.
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Experience in high-volume, scalable application architecture with a focus on high availability, resiliency, and performance engineering.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- API-first architecture

PREFERRED
- Experience in Indirect RV & Marine Lending Origination
- Familiarity with ArchiMate / iServer

- Experience integrating with XAM or similar servicing systems
- Experience with LOS replacement, modernization, and conversion programs
- TOGAF, AWS, or Azure certifications
EDUCATION
- TOGAF, AWS, or Azure certifications are a plus
