General Description/Primary Purpose: 
The Department of English is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure earning, Visiting Instructor of English. Position responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load or its equivalent and service.  

 

Supervisor: This position will report to the Department Chair.

 

Working Hours: Varies by assignment, but expected to be weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. 

 

Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role.

 

Required Licensure:  N/A 

 

Anticipated Start Date:  The position is expected to begin on August 3, 2026. 

 

Required Qualifications: 
Minimum required qualifications include having earned a Master of Arts in English, or comparable graduate degree, by August 3,2026. Candidates must have teaching experience at the university level, or equivalent experience preparing curriculum and planning. 

 

Preferred Qualifications / Skills: 
Experience teaching a variety of college-level writing courses in the first year, technical and professional communications, and literature or theater coursework.
