Description
Lead regional payroll transformation as Payroll Department Manager
Are you ready to lead payroll operations across Latin America?
Join a regional HR team where you will manage personnel administration across Brazil, Chile, and Mexico, while helping acquired entities move toward shared, efficient ways of working. You will lead payroll, benefits, legal compliance, and regional process structuring in a Finnish multinational industrial company with 19,000 employees worldwide and approximately 2,000 employees in the region. You will also help drive digital transformation and create strong, standard practices that support people, leaders, and the business.
Your responsibilities
Lead personnel administration operations across Latin America, with a focus on Brazil, Chile, and Mexico.
Manage payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, standardization, and reliable service for the region.
Ensure legal compliance across relevant Latin American labor environments and support consistent regional practices.
Structure and harmonize processes across acquired entities, improving efficiency and alignment across countries.
Lead digital transformation in payroll and personnel administration, partnering with regional HR leadership and local teams.
Expectations for you
You have a university degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, Law, or a related field.
You bring solid experience in Payroll or Personnel Administration, including a leadership role.
You have proven experience in multinational companies and in managing teams and processes across multiple Latin American countries.
You communicate fluently in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, both written and spoken.
Postgraduate studies or an MBA in People Management, Labor Law, or a related area will be considered a plus.
To succeed in this role
You combine strong payroll and personnel administration knowledge with a practical, hands-on way of working. You are analytical and strategic, and you solve problems with structure and ownership. You lead change in multicultural environments and understand how labor law, standard processes, and digital ways of working connect across Latin America.
We also expect you to align with Valmet’s Leadership Principles—practical behaviours that guide how we lead, collaborate, and succeed together:
Take accountability – Act with ownership, set clear expectations, and follow through
Lead with courage – Champion change, try bold ideas, and learn quickly
Build on trust – Listen to understand, be open, and create psychological safety
Collaborate for growth – Work across boundaries, value diverse perspectives, and focus on customer value
We offer
You will join a professional HR team in Latin America that supports your development and works closely with the wider global HR community.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn, take responsibility, and shape a broad range of HR and personnel administration practices.
The team is passionate about its work and values collaboration, professional support, and a good sense of humor.
You will contribute to developing ways of working that help the organization serve customers even better in the future.
You will be part of a global HR network of more than 100 Valmet HR professionals around the world.
