SAP HCM Junior Consultant – Payroll and Time Management

Role Overview

The SAP HCM Junior Consultant will support the HR Service Delivery Payroll Team in the delivery of SAP Payroll services for German accounts. Working under the guidance of senior consultants, the role will focus on supporting payroll and time management activities, system maintenance, issue analysis, and payroll and Time configuration tasks.

The consultant will gain hands-on experience in payroll processing, SAP HCM configuration, troubleshooting, and customer support while progressively developing expertise in SAP Payroll and Time Management solutions.

 

Main Responsibilities

• Support the execution of payroll and time management processes for assigned customer accounts.
• Assist in the analysis of payroll and time schemas to investigate payroll discrepancies and support issue resolution.
• Perform basic SAP HCM and Payroll configuration activities, including wage types, basic pay setup, and organizational assignments under supervision.
• Support the maintenance and testing of payroll schemas, PCRs, and configuration changes.
• Investigate and resolve standard payroll and time management incidents with guidance from senior consultants.
• Participate in payroll-related projects and enhancement activities as part of a cross-functional team.
• Assist with system testing, documentation, and validation of payroll changes.
• Maintain accurate ticket updates and ensure timely communication through ticket management tools.
• Support legal and customer-specific payroll requirements through standard SAP configuration and testing activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Continuously develop SAP Payroll and HCM knowledge through training and on-the-job learning.

 

Key Skills

Required

• Basic knowledge of SAP HCM Payroll.
• Understanding of SAP HCM modules such as Personnel Administration (PA) and Time Management (PT).
• Interest in payroll processes and HR systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Customer-oriented mindset and willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Preferred

• Basic understanding of German Payroll processes.
• Knowledge of payroll schemas, PCRs, wage types, or Time Management concepts.
• Basic ABAP knowledge is considered an advantage.
• German language skills are a plus.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Up to 2 years of experience in SAP HCM, HR systems, or payroll-related activities.
• Fluent level of English.
• Applicants must have a valid EU work permit.
