• Salary Package: Lecturer (Level B), from $123,435 to $146,044, plus 17% employer superannuation and annual leave loading

• Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed-term position (until 31 December 2027)

• Location: Macquarie University, Wallumattagal Campus, North Ryde

The School of Psychological Sciences is seeking a suitably qualified academic to be actively involved in the development, curriculum design, teaching, and delivery of units in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Psychology Courses within the School, as well as engaging in coursework research supervision.

This is a fixed term full-time position, and the successful applicant will be required to teach to a 70% teaching workload.

The school sits under the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Human Sciences (FMHHS) whose current education suite includes courses in clinical science, physiotherapy, medicine, exercise and sports science, public health, psychology, cognitive sciences, linguistics, audiology, and speech pathology. The faculty forms part of MQ Health, an integrated academic health sciences enterprise which incorporates Macquarie University Hospital and primary and speciality clinics.

About you

You will have a tertiary and professional qualifications in psychology, and the capacity to design, deliver units and programs at both the undergraduate and the postgraduate levels. You will also possess a willingness to embrace educational technology, blended learning and educational innovation.

Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria for Level B (Lecturer)

• A PhD or equivalent tertiary qualifications in Psychology.

• Current Registration as a Psychologist (Practicing) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

• Demonstrated teaching skills and ability to deliver high-quality learning in a tertiary/ higher education setting, including management of online and face-to-face content, lectures, tutorials, and assessments as well as evidence of positive student outcomes.

• Demonstrated experience in teaching in accredited psychology Undergraduate and/or Postgraduate courses including on topics such as counselling, health psychology, development, social and personality psychology. Applicants will be required to be capable of teaching across several of these topic areas.

• Demonstrated experience in teaching evidence-based assessment and cognitive-behavioural therapeutic approaches and counselling skills across the lifespan.

• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to relate to build an inclusive teaching and learning environment and work effectively in a team environment.

Desirable Criteria

• Evidence in supervising psychology Honours students.

• Psychology Board of Australia – approved supervisor.
