About You
Are you someone who can spot an opportunity, build trusted relationships and bring people together around a shared goal? As Growth Partnerships Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in growing strategic partnerships across RMIT's Health Transformation Lab and Activator. Working with leaders from industry, government, healthcare, startups and academia, you'll identify new opportunities, develop collaborative initiatives and strengthen existing partnerships that deliver both commercial outcomes and meaningful impact.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded relationship builder who thrives in complex stakeholder environments. You'll spend your time nurturing key partnerships, developing new opportunities, shaping proposals and navigating collaborations from initial conversations through to delivery. We're looking for someone who brings experience across multiple sectors, understands innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystems, and can confidently engage senior decision-makers while turning ambitious ideas into sustainable partnerships that generate revenue, visibility and long-term value for RMIT.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
Demonstrated success in identifying, developing and securing strategic partnership and business development opportunities within a complex innovation, research, university or industry environment.
Highly developed relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and steward long-term partnerships across industry, government, research, philanthropic and community sectors.
Proven commercial acumen, including experience developing funded partnerships, commercial programs, sponsorships or strategic initiatives that contribute to organisational growth and sustainability.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively across large and complex institutions, building internal networks and aligning diverse stakeholders around shared strategic objectives and external engagement opportunities.
Strong understanding of entrepreneurship, innovation, startup and scale-up ecosystems, including the dynamics of research translation, venture development and industry collaboration.
Experience working within entrepreneurship, venture capital, accelerator or innovation ecosystem environments.
Understanding of research commercialisation and the translation of research or technical innovation into real-world application and impact.
Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
