Job Description:

Under direct supervision, performs and documents technical functions related to calibration, testing, inspection, maintenance, and documentation of manufacturing equipment and measuring instruments.

This position supports the Calibration and Metrology function by assisting with internal calibrations, coordinating external calibration activities, maintaining calibration records, and ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements. The role performs electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical calibration-related activities while developing technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, laboratory instruments, and measurement systems.

Work Scheduled: Turno A (Diurno) – Lunes a Viernes de 6:00 a.m. – 3:36 p.m

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Administer and maintain the calibration system through documentation, tracking, and coordination of calibration activities for equipment such as:

    • Instron Tensile Testers (Pull-Test)

    • MicroVu Systems

    • SmartScope Systems

    • Optical Comparators

    • Laser Measurement Systems

    • Measurement and inspection instruments.

  • Support the execution and documentation of internal calibrations for manufacturing and laboratory equipment.

  • Coordinate external calibration services and maintain associated records.

  • Maintain calibration databases and calibration status records to ensure equipment compliance.

  • Coordinate and document repair, testing, calibration, and inspection activities for instruments, test equipment, and manufacturing equipment.

  • Set up, adjust, and operate manufacturing and laboratory equipment associated with production and quality activities.

  • Assist in maintaining compliance of measurement systems and calibration processes.

  • Generate and maintain calibration documentation and technical reports.

  • Record calibration procedures, results, and technical findings for Engineering review.

  • Support troubleshooting activities on measurement devices and calibration equipment when required.

  • Perform self-inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and procedures.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and calibration procedures.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

  • Complete all required Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality training.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GMP requirements, and regulatory standards.

Supervision

General supervision: routine duties are performed with moderate guidance. Standard practices and procedures allow completion of routine work independently while receiving support for more complex assignments.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 0–2 years of related experience in calibration, metrology, maintenance, quality, manufacturing support, or technical environments

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Technical degree in:

    • Metrology

    • Electronics

    • Electromechanics

    • Electrical Technology

    • Quality Systems

    • Maintenance Technology

    • Related technical disciplines.

  • University studies in Engineering are a plus.

  • Knowledge of measurement equipment and instrumentation is desirable.

  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.

  • Intermediate English level preferred (reading and writing; verbal communication is a plus).

  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn calibration methods, metrology practices, and measurement systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Windows-based systems.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Basic knowledge of calibration and metrology principles.

  • Ability to use test and measurement equipment.

  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation.

  • Ability to learn calibration systems and regulatory requirements.

  • Ability to learn GMP requirements and apply them consistently.

  • Ability to use computer systems and calibration databases.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to maintain technical records and documentation.

  • Good organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong teamwork and customer service orientation.

  • Ability to participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, suppliers, and internal customers.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to calculate and interpret measurements, ratios, percentages, and basic statistical information.

  • Intermediate computer skills including:

    • Email

    • Databases

    • Microsoft Word

    • Microsoft Excel

    • Reporting tools

MANUAL DEXTERITY

Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items and operate measurement instruments and equipment.

VISION REQUIREMENTS

Ability to adjust focus and visually inspect instruments, equipment, and measurements accurately.

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office and production environment with adequate ventilation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Moderate physical activity performing technical and support-related activities.

  • Frequent movement between production, laboratory, and calibration areas.

Other Physical Working Conditions

  • Moderate noise.

  • Standing and walking for extended periods.

  • Occasional lifting or carrying of equipment and instruments.

COMMENTS

This position supports the Calibration and Metrology function by ensuring equipment and measuring instruments remain compliant, accurate, and available for manufacturing operations. The role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise in calibration systems, instrumentation, metrology, and regulated manufacturing environments.
