Role: Mobile Glass Fitter - PSV Industry Location: Field-based / Mobile (Regional Coverage) Contract: Full time - Permanent Salary: Competitive Application: Please apply before the 6th of August at 17:00 Job Purpose The Mobile Glass Fitter is responsible for the safe, efficient, and professional replacement, repair, and maintenance of vehicle glazing systems across buses, coaches, minibuses, and other passenger service vehicles (PSVs), working from a fully equipped mobile service vehicle to deliver a high-quality glazing service that minimises vehicle downtime and customer disruption while ensuring fleets remain safe, compliant, and operational in line with industry standards. Key Responsibilities
- Replace and repair windscreens, side windows, rear windows, destination screens, and other glazing components on PSV vehicles.
- Travel to customer sites, depots, and breakdown locations to carry out glazing work.
- Assess vehicle damage and determine the most appropriate repair or replacement solution.
- Remove damaged glass and prepare apertures for installation in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Install replacement glass using approved adhesives, tools, and fitting techniques.
- Ensure all work meets relevant health, safety, quality, and industry standards.
- Complete job documentation, service reports, and photographic records accurately and promptly.
- Maintain stock levels of glass, consumables, tools, and equipment within the mobile service vehicle.
- Liaise professionally with depot managers, engineers, and fleet operators.
- Follow company safe systems of work, risk assessments, and PPE requirements.
- Participate in an on-call rota where required to support emergency glazing services.
- Maintain company vehicles in a clean, safe, and roadworthy condition.
- Identify additional repair opportunities and communicate findings to management.
- Previous experience fitting automotive or commercial vehicle glass.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet service level agreements.
- Experience working within the PSV, bus, coach, HGV, or commercial vehicle sectors.
- NVQ or equivalent qualification in Automotive Glazing, Vehicle Body Repair, or related discipline.
- IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant safety certifications.
- Experience using electronic job management systems.
