Role: Parent Educator
Job Title: Fatherhood Specialist
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Reports to: Program Coordinator
Location: Houston, TX

Position Description:
The Fatherhood Specialist (Parent Educator) will provide curriculum-based parenting support to fathers in the Greater Houston area (Harris, Ft. Bend, and Brazoria counties). The Fatherhood Specialist will facilitate curricula, presentations, and activities as well as provide support for marketing and recruitment of participants for families in community settings, as directed by the grant. Primary responsibilities include group facilitation using the 24/7 Dad curriculum, managing online participation of ProFathering program, and conducting community outreach to recruit new participants. The Fatherhood Specialist will also work closely with the surrounding community providing advocacy and referral services.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social work or related human services field.
- Must have completed the 24/7 Dad curricula training or be able to attain such certification within the first year of employment. Employment is contingent on acquisition of minimal certification.
- One year of related experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Social Work practices.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professional, confidential work environment.
- Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and work force.
- Ability to work flexible hours which vary according to client needs.
- Environment: Home-based office, Community Settings
- Range of Schedule: Mon – Fri, 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, Occasional Saturday s for planned events
- Travel: Frequent (Must have reliable transportation and valid Texas Driver License)
