This position is the first line of support for developers and production support during Denver, night time and during the maintenance window.
DBA Responsibilities:
This position is the first line of support for developers and production support during Denver, CO night time and during the maintenance window.
List of responsibilities:
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle RDBMS software and related products
Patching of Oracle RDBMS/Exadata
Maintain database security (per ISP documentation and best practices)
Do database tuning and performance monitoring
Assist with application tuning and performance monitoring
Maintain and update documentation and standards
Work as part of a team to provide 7x24 support (after hours and maintenance window)
Including researching and killing sessions
Extending tablespaces when necessary
Purge XA transactions
Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
Research Oracle database issues, including interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support
C Shell/Perl/SQL scripting, including debugging/maintaining existing scripts as well as creating new scripts
Partition maintenance
Monitor OEM for potential production issues
Other tasks/duties as assigned
Required Skills:
Good understanding of the Oracle database, related utilities and tools
Good understanding of Oracle Forms, Pro*C, and Data Modeler & Subversion is desired
Understanding of Exadata, DataGuard, RAC, GoldenGate is desired
Understanding of database compression, encryption, materialized views a plus
Knowledge and experience with scripting (PL/SQL, Perl, C Shell)
A good understanding of the underlying operating system (mostly UNIX/LINUX)
A good knowledge of the physical database design (including partitioning)
Ability to perform both Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
Knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery scenarios
A good knowledge of Oracle security management
A good knowledge of how Oracle acquires and manages resources
A good knowledge of Oracle data integrity
Sound knowledge of the applications systems at your site
Good communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
