Role Overview:
This role serves as a Senior Subject Matter Expert within Services Wire Clearing Operations, providing strategic leadership and specialized expertise across complex technical and operational initiatives in support of North America Wire Clearing Operations. The position partners closely with Operations, Technology, Product, and other cross-functional stakeholders to translate business and operational requirements into effective solutions and drive alignment across key priorities. Through expertise in wire payment systems and architecture, the role is instrumental in advancing operational capabilities and ensuring preparedness for industry mandates, infrastructure changes, and payment modernization efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a senior subject matter expert in wire clearing operations, payment systems, processing architecture, and industry infrastructure.
- Lead complex technical and operational initiatives supporting North America Wire Clearing Operations.
- Resolve high-priority payment incidents, inquiries, and escalations through independent analysis, sound judgment, and cross-functional coordination.
- Partner with Operations, Technology, Product, and other stakeholders to translate operational requirements into effective, sustainable technical solutions.
- Direct operational readiness for industry mandates, infrastructure changes, system releases, and payment modernization initiatives.
- Provide operational leadership for strategic programs, including VES integration, SWIFT releases, SWIFT Ledger, new payment platform(s), and Fedwire and CHIPS changes.
- Identify operational risks, control gaps, and implementation issues, and drive timely resolution to minimize payment-processing delays and client impact.
- Establish clear communication and information flow across teams during incidents, projects, system changes, and critical implementations.
- Provide specialized guidance and support for recurring operational inquiries, quarterly and annual initiatives, and department-wide priorities.
- Develop team capabilities through technical guidance, knowledge transfer, documentation, and training on wire clearing processes and systems.
- Drive project execution and operational preparedness to support milestone achievement, implementation quality, and compliance with mandated deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to facilitate discussions, and the ability to be assertive while promoting a collaborative and partnering environment.
- Comfortable presenting data to stakeholders.
- Ability to quickly grasp and master new concepts/requirements and related product/functional knowledge.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and take ownership of various parts of a project or initiative.
- Ability to give focused attention to detail and deliver high-quality work while managing competing priorities under pressure.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work and partner globally across different geographic locations.
