Position Summary



As the Pharmacy Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily inventory activities and ensuring medication and supply availability to support uninterrupted patient care.



Key responsibilities include:



  • Monitor inventory levels of medications, supplies, and pharmacy products to ensure availability and accuracy.
  • Manage inventory replenishment activities and coordinate timely ordering of pharmacy products.
  • Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, reconciliations, and physical inventory reviews.
  • Track product expiration dates and support first-expire-first-out (FEFO) inventory practices.
  • Investigate inventory variances, discrepancies, and control issues while implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, documentation, and system transactions.
  • Support regulatory compliance requirements related to pharmacy inventory management and controlled substances.
  • Assist with internal audits, inspections, and inventory reporting activities.
  • Utilize inventory management systems to analyze inventory trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and operational teams to support efficient pharmacy workflows.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance inventory accuracy, efficiency, and service levels.


What You'll Bring



Required Qualifications



Experience:



  • Minimum of 2 or more years of experience in pharmacy inventory management, preferably in a mail order, specialty, or high-volume setting
  • Experience maintaining inventory records and conducting inventory audits or reconciliations.
  • Proficiency using inventory management systems and technology tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.


Certification:



  • Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT); compliance with state requirements for pharmacy staff.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, business, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience within a specialty pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, healthcare, or highly regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy compliance requirements, medication storage standards, and controlled substance inventory practices.
  • Experience supporting startup operations, process improvement, or implementation activities is highly desirable.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is $23.63/hour - $33.09/hour. The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance).



The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, travel requirements, internal equity, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
