Description

About Muschlitz

Founded in 1990 and based in Bath, Pennsylvania, Muschlitz Excavating is a full-service site development and excavation contractor serving commercial, industrial, municipal, and residential clients across the Lehigh Valley and beyond. Our crews perform mass earthwork, land clearing, utilities, paving, rock crushing, and other complex site work. Reliable field technology and consistent communication about our people, projects, and career opportunities are increasingly important to our continued growth.

The Opportunity

We are creating a hands-on coordination role that combines two important areas of responsibility: supporting our company-issued technology fleet and managing our social media presence. This person will keep approximately 110 iPads, iPhones, and hotspots organized and working for field and office employees while also maintaining a consistent, professional flow of company content across social platforms.

The right candidate will be organized, resourceful, comfortable working with both people and technology, and willing to move between troubleshooting a device, coordinating with our outside IT provider, visiting a job site for photos, and planning upcoming social media content. Outside resources may assist with copywriting, design, or other specialized work, but this role will own the internal coordination, source material, schedule, and follow-through.

What You Will Do

IT Fleet and Employee Technology Support

  • Manage the device fleet. Maintain accurate inventory and assignment records for company iPads, iPhones, hotspots, and related accessories, including devices issued, returned, repaired, replaced, or retired.
  • Coordinate setup and lifecycle activities. Prepare devices for new and existing employees, assist with Apple Business Manager enrollment, software and app updates, Microsoft Authenticator and MFA setup, and repair or replacement logistics.
  • Provide first-line support. Troubleshoot common device, connectivity, hotspot, printer, phone, and field-application issues for field and office employees, in person or remotely, and document recurring problems.
  • Partner with our outside IT provider. Learn the provider's systems and processes, gather the information needed for efficient escalation, coordinate access and on-site support, and follow issues through resolution. The outside provider will continue to handle network administration, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and other specialized support.
  • Develop practical internal capability. As experience grows, take ownership of selected routine tasks currently performed by the outside IT provider when doing so is efficient, appropriately documented, and approved by management.
  • Support employees in the field. Be available early in the workday to address device issues before they disrupt crews, with occasional travel to local job sites when hands-on assistance is needed.

Social Media and Content Coordination

  • Manage the content calendar. Create and maintain a forward-looking schedule for company posts, recruiting content, project highlights, employee recognition, safety milestones, community involvement, and other approved topics.
  • Source and organize content. Coordinate with field leaders, project managers, Human Resources, and management to identify stories and obtain timely photos, videos, project details, employee information, and required approvals.
  • Capture field and aerial content. Visit jobsites and company events as needed to take useful, professional photos and short videos. Operate the company's drone to capture approved aerial photo and video content after appropriate training and in compliance with company policies, site requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate outside creative support. Provide clear briefs and source materials to outsourced writers, designers, or other resources, use of AI to prepare the materials is strongly encouraged; review drafts for accuracy and brand fit; route content for approval; and ensure approved posts are published on schedule.
  • Maintain company channels. Coordinate regular posting and basic community management across company-approved platforms, keep profiles and recurring information current, and respond to or route comments and messages appropriately.
  • Support recruiting through social media. Work with Human Resources to promote open positions, employee experiences, company culture, and career paths; monitor engagement and applicant traffic; and help strengthen the path from social content to the company's application process.
  • Track performance. Maintain simple monthly reporting on posting activity, reach, engagement, recruiting traffic, and content performance, and use the results to improve future content.

What We Are Looking For

  • Education and experience. An associate's or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. Early-career candidates with strong practical skills are welcome.
  • Technology aptitude. Comfort with Apple and iOS devices and basic troubleshooting across mobile hardware, Wi-Fi and hotspots, printers, and everyday business software. Apple Business Manager experience is helpful but not required.
  • Content and social media capability. Experience maintaining social media accounts or content calendars, coordinating photos and short-form video, and writing or editing clear, professional posts. Experience with LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, or recruiting campaigns is a plus.
  • Organization and follow-through. Ability to manage two distinct workstreams, maintain accurate records and schedules, prioritize time-sensitive requests, and follow issues and content approvals through completion.
  • Communication and judgment. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to explain technology in plain language, represent the company professionally, protect confidential information, and recognize when an issue or post requires escalation or approval.
  • Field readiness. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional local job-site travel. Mileage will be reimbursed at the current IRS rate. Candidates must be comfortable entering active construction environments and complying with required safety practices.
  • Schedule. Availability to work on site from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM so support is available near the start of the field crews' workday.
  • Additional strengths. Photography or basic video editing, Canva or similar design tools, social media analytics, scripting, workflow automation, or experience using AI-assisted productivity tools. Prior drone operation experience is a plus.

Schedule and Location

This is a full-time, on-site position based at our Bath, Pennsylvania office, generally from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Occasional local travel to job sites and company events is required, with mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate. The mix of IT fleet support and social media work will vary based on operational needs, device activity, recruiting priorities, and the content calendar.
