JOB SUMMARY
The Hole Bore Crew Member is responsible for the precise placement of raw and finished good blocks behind small and medium peelers. This role involves rotating between various job duties, including operating the Hole Bore Machine, measuring and ensuring the accuracy of drilled holes, and stacking finished blocks for production.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Placement and Stacking:
- Place raw and finished good blocks behind designated peelers.
- Identify each block by its label to ensure it is placed on the correct peeler for production.
- Hole Bore Machine Operation:
- Operate the Hole Bore Machine, responsible for drilling a hole in the center of finished good blocks.
- Measure both ends of every fifth block to verify that the hole is centered.
- Take measurements at three locations: each shoulder and directly from the bottom edge of the hole.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure the hole is properly centered in all finished blocks.
- If the hole is off-center, immediately notify the Group Leader.
- Work with the Group Leader and maintenance mechanic to adjust the machine as needed.
- Notify the Shift Supervisor if the problem cannot be resolved by maintenance.
- Conveyor Belt Management:
- After drilling and ensuring the block is centered, place the block on the conveyor belt.
- Monitor the belt to ensure blocks are properly transported and stacked behind the assigned peeler.

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
- Ability to operate machinery and perform precise measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
