We are currently looking to hire a Growth and Business Development Intern to join our Corporate team! This position requires working a part time hybrid schedule.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Growth and Business Development Intern will be based within Concentric’s London Insurance Growth team, supporting the continued development of our insurance business while also providing project support to the wider organization.

The role is designed to provide broad exposure to the commercial and operational activities of an international business. The intern will work alongside the Insurance Growth team on live opportunities involving insurers, brokers and other partners, while also supporting projects and initiatives from across the wider Concentric Group.

To ensure appropriate prioritization, supervision and workload management, all requests for support from the intern will be coordinated through the Growth team. Other departments are encouraged to utilise the intern’s support, but work should be requested and prioritized through the Growth team rather than assigned directly. The intern will also work closely with Group Marketing to gain exposure to brand, content and campaign activity across the Concentric Group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Insurance Growth & Business Development

  • Attend internal and external meetings alongside members of the Insurance Growth team.
  • Assist with preparation for meetings with insurers, brokers, underwriters, clients and prospective partners.
  • Prepare meeting notes, actions and follow-up materials.
  • Conduct research on prospective clients, partners, markets and opportunities.
  • Assist with maintaining the insurance opportunity pipeline and CRM.
  • Prepare briefing packs and background research ahead of client and partner meetings.
  • Support the coordination of new opportunities from initial engagement through to onboarding.
  • Assist with general business development activity and follow-up.

Proposals, Contracts & Commercial Documentation

  • Assist with drafting and formatting client proposals.
  • Support the preparation and review of contracts and associated commercial documentation.
  • Assist with Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), tenders and other client submissions.
  • Coordinate information and contributions from relevant areas of the business.
  • Support the preparation of pricing, capability and supporting documentation.
  • Help ensure submissions are accurate, professional and delivered within required timescales.

Due Diligence & Client Onboarding

  • Assist with client and partner due diligence requests.
  • Coordinate responses to questionnaires covering company information, operational capability, compliance, data protection, information security, business continuity and related areas.
  • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to obtain required information and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain organised records of due diligence information that can be reused for future submissions.
  • Assist with onboarding new insurance partners and other clients.

Marketing & Market Development

  • Support the development of marketing materials for insurance and the wider business, including presentations, capability documents, product sheets and brochures.
  • Research and draft case studies, working with operational teams to capture client outcomes.
  • Draft social media content in line with the marketing calendar.
  • Support website content updates and sector-specific pages.
  • Help plan and deliver industry events and conferences, including logistics, materials and pre and post-event communications.
  • Capture photo, video and written content at events, exercises and client activity for use in marketing.
  • Assist with award entries and industry submissions.
  • Conduct market, sector and competitor research, including monitoring how Concentric appears in search and AI tools.
  • Help track and report on campaign and content performance.
  •  Maintain an organised library of approved marketing assets and collateral.
  • Help identify relevant market developments and potential commercial opportunities.

Wider Business Support

Although embedded within the Insurance Growth team, the intern will be available to support appropriate projects across the wider Concentric Group.

This may include:

  • Supporting wider growth and business development initiatives.
  • Undertaking research and market analysis.
  • Supporting strategic and internal projects.
  • Assisting with preparation of reports, presentations and management information.
  • Supporting client and company events.
  • Working with operational teams on defined projects.
  • Supporting Account Management and client-related initiatives.
  • Undertaking other appropriate commercial or business projects.

All wider business requests will be submitted through the Growth team, who will agree priorities, deadlines and workload with the intern.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate should be:

  • Commercially minded with an interest in business and growth.
  • A strong written and verbal communicator.
  • Comfortable interacting with senior colleagues and external clients.
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Able to conduct research and turn information into concise, professional outputs.
  • Detail-oriented, particularly when working with contracts, proposals and client documentation.
  • Proactive and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Interested in learning about insurance, international business, Duty of Care, medical and security assistance and crisis response.
  • Occasional travel within the UK and internationally may be required to support client meetings, industry events, conferences, training exercises and other company activity. Travel will be agreed in advance and arranged in line with Concentric's travel and expenses policy.

Previous insurance or industry experience is not essential. The role is intended to provide practical experience and development through exposure to the business.

DEVELOPMENT & EXPOSURE:

The internship is intended to provide meaningful practical experience rather than primarily administrative support.

The intern will gain exposure to:

  • The London insurance market and relationships with insurers, brokers and underwriters.
  • Business development and commercial strategy.
  • Live client opportunities and the sales process.
  • Proposals, contracts, RFIs/RFPs and commercial negotiations.

  • Global medical, security, crisis response and Duty of Care services.
  • The relationship between commercial teams and operational delivery.
  • Senior leadership and different functions across the Concentric Group.

Where appropriate, the intern will be encouraged to take increasing ownership of defined projects as their knowledge and experience develop.

CONFIDENTIALITY:

Given the nature of the role, the intern may have access to commercially sensitive information, client information, contracts, pricing, business development opportunities and other confidential material.

The intern will therefore be expected to maintain appropriate confidentiality at all times and comply with Concentric’s information security, data protection and confidentiality requirements.
