Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Franchise Accounts Receivable will oversee Pinch A Penny’s franchise receivables, royalties, franchisee loans, and Sun Wholesale receivables, ensuring accurate billing, collections, reconciliation, and reporting. This role will partner with Franchise Operations, Sun Wholesale, and the enterprise accounting team to resolve account issues and bring overdue balances current.
Responsibilities:
Receivables and Royalty Administration
- Manages franchise and Sun Wholesale billing and collections, including royalties, advertising contributions, technology fees, product purchases, and other charges.
- Verifies timely sales reporting and accurate royalty calculations, rates, credits, and adjustments.
- Maintains account records, payment terms, and approved arrangements, including changes related to openings, transfers, renewals, and closures.
- Coordinates payment application, reconciliations, and month-end close with the enterprise accounting team.
Collections and Operations Partnership
- Reviews aging and alert the Director of Franchise Operations, assigned Franchise Business Partners, and Sun Wholesale leadership to accounts requiring attention.
- Coordinates franchisee outreach and approved payment plans to bring accounts current, tracking commitments, follow-up responsibilities, and progress.
- Resolves billing questions and disputes with franchisees, Sun Wholesale, and the enterprise accounting team.
- Escalates missed commitments, unresolved delinquencies, and signs of financial distress to Finance, Operations, and Legal.
Franchisee Loan Administration
- Supports loan origination and issuance, documenting initial invoices, charges, and adjustments to establish opening balances.
- Maintains loan terms, balances, and payment schedules. Coordinate approved funding, payoffs, and modifications with Finance and Legal.
- Oversees loan billing, collections, and payment application, coordinating reconciliations with the enterprise accounting team.
- Monitors delinquencies, maturities, and agreement obligations. Partner with Operations on overdue payments and approved repayment plans.
Reporting, Controls, and Process Improvement
- Provides weekly collections updates and monthly royalty, receivables, and loan reporting, highlighting overdue accounts and required actions.
- Tracks billing accuracy, collection performance, and account resolution.
- Maintains procedures and controls, supporting the enterprise accounting team with audits, collectability assessments, and reserve recommendations.
- Partners with IT, Finance, and enterprise accounting to improve systems, automate processes, and strengthen reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Five or more years of experience in receivables, collections, or related accounting functions, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience administering loans or notes receivable, including interest calculations, payment schedules, and delinquency tracking.
- Franchise, wholesale, or multi-location experience preferred, including royalty reporting and contractual billing.
- Experience using ERP systems and partnering with operations and accounting teams to improve collections and processes.
- Clear communication and sound interpersonal judgment in resolving sensitive issues.
- Ability to coordinate teams, meet deadlines, protect confidential information, and maintain consistent accountability.
