Position Summary

The Driver/Warehouse Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while supporting branch operations through safe and timely product deliveries, warehouse inventory management, and sales counter assistance. This position ensures customer orders are accurately fulfilled, received materials are properly stocked, and inventory is maintained in an organized and safe manner. As a key point of contact for customers, this role requires a strong commitment to exceptional service. 

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Load truck accurately and safely for customer deliveries.
• Unload truck as needed at branch and customer locations.
• Drive company vehicle to make customer deliveries and stock pick-ups, obeying traffic laws and safety procedures. Maintain appropriate licensing and acceptable driving record.
• Maintain a positive customer attitude towards customers and co-workers by being friendly and courteous.
• Fill customer orders by retrieving material from the warehouse.
• Check in and put away material, verifying quantities, and quality of received material. Maintain clear isles and walkways. Ensure material is properly organized.
• Assist in appearance of branch as needed. Clean warehouse, counter area, bathrooms, etc.
• Know location of merchandise in warehouse. Keep material organized and put away.
• Provide assistance at counter. Assist customers as needed, ask pertinent questions, provide information they may need.
• Continuously update product knowledge. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability.
• Answer telephones professionally and pleasantly, assisting customers, taking orders and providing excellent customer service.
• Report back orders or discrepancies.
• Perform cycle counts as required.
• Perform vehicle and/or forklift inspections as required, schedule routine or repair maintenance as needed.
• Assist in performance of year-end physical inventories for various branch locations.
• Perform other responsibilities as deemed necessary.
• Perform all duties in a safe responsible manner, following all safety rules. Inform manager or any potentially hazardous conditions.

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, sit, walk; use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or carry.  
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  
• Frequently required to lift, up to 25 lbs. 
• Occasionally required to lift, up to 50 lbs.  
• Must be able to safely tolerate heat in the summer and cold in the winter. 
• Regularly required to talk and hear; read, and identify numbers 
• Regularly required to apply sound reasoning and logic in performing daily tasks. 
• Required to be able to safely operate material handling equipment including a forklift, pallet jack, wire-cutting machine.
