In this position...

Vehicle Operations Manufacturing Engineering is a cross-functional team having the primary responsibility to plan for and implement the launch of new vehicle programs at assembly plants. The Vehicle Calibration and Test (VCT) Supervisor leads vehicle calibration and test development, launches, validation, and ongoing plant support for North American programs.

What you'll do...

The Manufacturing Vehicle Calibration and Test (VCT) Supervisor will be a part of this team and be responsible for the following:

• Provide VCT manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program from KO through launch.
• Ensure compliance to the GVOSS (Global Vehicle Operations Structured Standards) and Ergonomic standards for calibration and test system installations.
• Develop and implement improvements to process tooling software (SW) and hardware (HW) using data from the Dashboard Reporting Systems.
• Support NML and program launch reviews as required including validating scorecard updates
• Lead capital project teams to develop capital appropriations requests and manage the projects from concept through commissioning.
• Lead costing for test implementation and find acceptable cost reduction opportunities.
• Provide onsite prototype build support at North American Manufacturing Assembly Plants. Note: Travel within US, Canada and Mexico for installation, launch support and issue resolution may require up to 70% of dedicated time onsite.
• Coordinate all pre-launch EOL validation events from DCV through MP2.
• Assist plant & implementation teams in resolving EOL performance issues.
• Lead the lessons learned feedback loop to drive Process Driven Product Design standards

You'll have...

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing), or Similar Technical degree

• 5+ years’ experience in Final Assembly Process & Tooling Development

• Strong computer skills (Excel, Power Point, etc.)

• Ability to operate in stressful situations within timing constraints.

• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision

• Extended travel to assembly plants in US, Canada, and/or Mexico required

• Leadership communication skills consistent with reporting out to Director and VP level leadership

Even better, you may have...

• Automotive manufacturing experience / supplier project management skills
• Extensive knowledge and experience in FAE tooling installation and commissioning
• Knowledge and experience in failure mode avoidance methodology
• Knowledge and experience in diagnostic validations methods and tools, processes and engineering deliverables
• Experience with optical measurement and calibration systems

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
