Senior Fullstack Software Engineer

Overview

Electric Power Engineers, Inc. (EPE) is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Developer to be part of the FAST product team. In this role, you will work alongside senior developers and engineers to help develop, maintain, and deploy cutting-edge cloud-based solutions for scaling transmission power systems engineering processes for both EPE and our clients. You will have opportunities to work with the latest technologies and contribute to a growing portfolio of products that are helping shape the future of power systems.

Responsibilities

How you can make an impact:

• Collaborate with the software team to design, develop, test, and deploy cloud-based software solutions for the energy sector.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing existing applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Work with cutting-edge technologies like Python, React, Typescript, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to code reviews, bug fixes, and performance tuning to ensure high-qualitydeliverables.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, data science, andbusiness teams, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of products.
• Contribute to the design and build of agentic skills and processes that speed time to market and improve code contribution, safely.
• Continuously learn new technologies and approaches to software development.

 

Qualifications

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a similar technical field or Bachelor of Power System Engineering and 4+ years working in a software engineering capacity.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience developing software or SaaS product.
• Minimum 3+ years of Python experience specifically in the design on FastAPI based REST services, and the python ecosystem
• Minimum 4+ years of React experience specifically in a fullstack capacity for the development of SaaS / CloudBased applications.
• Demonstrated contribution to at least one enterprise client facing application
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git).
• Strong understanding of software development principles, algorithms, and data structures.
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proven capability to mentor and provide support to Junior Developers.
• Ability to dive into new codebases, generate data-driven decisions for refactoring opportunities, and contribute code.
• Knowledge of cloud-based solutions, specifically AWS.
• Power Systems Engineering experience preferred.

Location: This position will be located in Panama City, Panama

Travel:  Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less)
