Note : This is a call-off basis, approximately 1 to 2 months and to be called when required
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced petrophysical evaluation and interpretation of well log data for exploration and development wells.
- Support exploration activities, including prospect and lead evaluation, well planning, and pre-drill/post-drill analysis.
- Conduct formation evaluation using conventional and advanced well logs, core data, pressure data, and other available subsurface information.
- Develop and maintain petrophysical models, including lithology, porosity, water saturation, permeability and net-to-gross estimation.
- Integrate petrophysical interpretations with geological, geophysical and reservoir engineering studies.
- Provide technical input for exploration well proposals, well planning and post-well evaluation.
- Evaluate reservoir quality, fluid contacts, hydrocarbon saturation and pay zones.
- Review and quality-check petrophysical interpretations and provide technical recommendations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary subsurface studies and technical reviews.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior/intermediate petrophysicists.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations and recommendations for management and project stakeholders.
- Support regional and field studies by integrating historical well and basin data.
- Apply industry best practices and appropriate petrophysical workflows to improve the quality and reliability of subsurface evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Petrophysics, Geoscience, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 20 years of relevant industry experience in petrophysics, with substantial experience in the oil & gas industry.
- Strong and proven experience in exploration petrophysics and formation evaluation.
- Extensive experience in Malaysian basins, with good understanding of the regional geological and petroleum systems.
- Familiarity with Malaysian Basin environments and relevant well logging and formation evaluation practices.
- Proven experience in integrating petrophysical data with geological, geophysical and reservoir engineering interpretations.
- Experience in evaluating clastic and/or carbonate reservoirs would be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of conventional and advanced well logging techniques.
- Experience with petrophysical software and interpretation platforms.
- Strong analytical, technical reporting and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary subsurface team.
