Allied Universal is Seeking Security Patroller - Campus - Full Time In Calgary, Alberta.   Job Title: Security Patroller - Campus  Job Location: Calgary, Alberta Job Type: Full Time  Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour Shifts : Monday to Sunday - 0700 - 1900 - able to work rotational shifts.  Number of Vacancies: 3 Positions

Position Summary

We are seeking a professional, reliable, and customer-focused Security Patroller - Campus at Calgary,Alberta to provide security services.The successful candidate will be responsible for protecting people, property, and assets while maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This role requires excellent observation skills, strong communication, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents.This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build a career in the security industry while gaining valuable experience in the Retail Centre.  

Physical Capability

Applicants should be comfortable performing an active security role that involves extended walking and standing and approximately 8,000–10,000 steps per shift, along with frequent bending, reaching, stair use, and movement throughout the assigned property.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular foot patrols throughout assigned Campus buildings and outdoor areas.

• Walk approximately 8,000–10,000 steps per shift as required by the site.

• Remain standing and active for extended periods while performing security duties.

• Regularly walk, stand, bend, reach, and move around the property while conducting patrols.

• Monitor entrances, exits, hallways, classrooms, parking areas, and other assigned locations.

• Perform access control and verify authorized persons entering restricted areas.

• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems and respond appropriately to security concerns.

• Identify and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, property damage, and policy violations.

• Respond to incidents and emergencies in accordance with site procedures.

• Assist with fire alarms, evacuations, and other emergency situations.

• Use effective communication and conflict-de-escalation techniques when dealing with students, staff, visitors, or members of the public.

• Maintain accurate daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.

• Follow site post orders, security procedures, and instructions from the Site Supervisor or Manager.

• Maintain a professional, courteous, and customer-service-oriented presence at all times.

• Demonstrate good judgment and remain calm during emergencies or challenging situations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years of security experience.
• Valid AB Security Services Worker Licence (required).
• Valid First Aid & CPR Certification.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada and available to work up to 40 hours per week, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, report writing, and incident documentation.
• Experience using CCTV monitoring, access control systems, and alarm monitoring systems.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service abilities.
• Strong observation, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, manage incidents professionally, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Experience in access control, corporate office security, or similar professional security environments is considered a strong asset.
