We understand the need to be creative and flexible when it comes to telecommuting and other alternative work arrangements. This position is eligible for our hybrid remote work program which allows employees to work remotely two days a week. This position has flexibility in choosing which two days, in addition to Wednesday, will be worked in the Silver Spring, MD office.

 

Responsibilities

The Network Engineer II independently provides support in a predominantly windows environment and assist other team with seamlessly integrate technology to fulfill the needs of the organization. Performs duties that would help navigate all cloud computing needs, including infrastructure design, maintenance, support and planning.

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

• 5 years previous working experience as a Network Engineer
• BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
• Cisco certifications, CCNA, CCNP or CCIE
• In depth knowledge of TCP/IP
• Hands on experience with equipment from Cisco
• Intimate cloud computing knowledge of how best to customize applications for the various business units in a secure and efficient manner
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Analytical, data driven problem solver
• Experience with SolarWinds monitoring tool
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong System Cisco administration knowledge.
• Familiar with Cisco hardware platforms
• Experience with SolarWinds

 

Preferences:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Cisco certifications, CCNA or CCNP
• 5 years experience as a Network Engineer
