Job Description
Design Operation Excellence Internship, LEGO DESiGN
Help make design knowledge, systems and guidance easier to find, use and share.
Location: Billund, Denmark
Duration: 5 months
Internship period: February-June 2027
Application deadline: 1 November 2026
Where you will make your mark
As an intern in the Design Operation Excellence team, you will work closely with the people shaping design processes, systems and tools that help teams collaborate and perform at their best. You will partner with colleagues across the LEGO DESiGN organization and gain insight into how creative teams work at scale. Through your work, you will improve how knowledge, guidance and best practices are captured, maintained and shared through our design system, enabling teams to work more effectively and consistently. You will apply your content design, UX design or service design skills to make information more accessible, useful and actionable for designers across the organization.
What you bring
- You are pursuing a degree in Content Design, Information Design, UX Design, Service Design, Communication Design, Information Architecture, Knowledge Management, Technical Communication, Library & Information Science, Digital Design or a related discipline.
- You have an interest in design systems, content design, UX writing, service design, information architecture or knowledge management.
- You have experience creating, organizing or improving content, documentation or user-facing information.
- You are familiar with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft 365 or similar platforms.
- You are curious about how standards, processes and systems help organizations collaborate and perform at their best.
Ready to take the leap?
- Submit your portfolio, CV and cover letter in English.
- Application deadline 1 November 2026
Before you apply
Please apply only if you meet all the criteria:
- You meet all the education, skills and portfolio criteria listed for this internship.
- You can join for the full internship period from February to June 2027.
- You are available to work in Billund for the full internship. This internship cannot be completed remotely.
- You are an active student throughout the internship, and the internship is an integrated part of your education.
- Completing the internship will not extend or delay your expected graduation date.
We offer internships across several design disciplines. Explore the different opportunities and apply only for the roles that genuinely align with your education, strengths and ambitions. Applying for every position will not increase your chances and can make it harder for us to understand where your passion, potential and dreams truly belong.
Inside LEGO DESiGN
The LEGO DESiGN organization is home to more than 600 creative professionals from around the world, united by a shared ambition to create meaningful play experiences. Different design disciplines, perspectives and crafts come together to turn ideas into products and experiences enjoyed across the globe.
As an intern, you will step into this creative environment and see how collaboration, curiosity, craft and experimentation shape the work. You will contribute your perspective while learning how a world-class design organization brings the future of play to life.
One program. One unforgettable experience.
The LEGO DESiGN Internship Program is a shared journey. From your first day in Billund, you will join a dedicated onboarding experience, be supported by a mentor and become part of an international community of design interns learning alongside one another.
You will be trusted to bring your point of view, encouraged to experiment and given space to grow your craft through real creative work. This is a chance to stretch yourself, build work you are proud of and create relationships that can continue well beyond the internship.
You will share accommodation with fellow design interns, making everyday life in Billund part of the adventure. Conversations can continue over dinner, new places can be discovered together, and friendships and networks will grow along the way. Come build your craft, your community and the next chapter of your design journey with us.
