Description

At MJH Life Sciences our success is measured by your success! If you set your standards high and want to contribute to a winning team, we’ll provide you with every opportunity to help grow our company and your career. Our associates come from all backgrounds, sharing one key quality: determination to succeed. We value being Service Focused, having a Passion for Winning, Innovation, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. Nothing means more to us than hiring people with these attributes. If you believe you’re right for the job, this is the place to prove it!

We are seeking a Medical Writer to join our Clinical Communications team, supporting the development of educational medical and scientific content for oncology care provider audiences. Working closely with an internal team of writers, editors, and project managers, you will independently develop peer-reviewed manuscripts, slide decks, video-based learning, and other content across the oncology landscape. This role requires deep familiarity with oncology subject matter, exceptional scientific writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple deliverables across concurrent review cycles with accuracy and precision.

What You'll Do

  • Perform extensive literature review across disease states, therapeutic advancements, current research trends, and clinical data to support content development
  • Synthesize and apply evidence-based medical literature, clinical practice guidelines, and disease-state information across therapeutic areas, including identifying levels of evidence, clinical trial data, unmet needs, and the clinical utility of therapeutic choices
  • Develop accurate, high-quality written content for digital, video, and event deliverables; ensure all content and supporting artwork are factually accurate, properly annotated, and referenced in accordance with in-house style guidelines and the AMA Manual of Style (11th edition)
  • Manage content through the full project lifecycle, incorporating faculty, peer review, and internal review comments, and preparing work for submission at each stage
  • Conduct global fact-checks of referenced literature to ensure scientific and clinical accuracy of all deliverables
  • Support preparation of promotional educational materials in compliance with pharmaceutical company-specific standards and FDA regulations for drug promotion
  • Use AI tools to accelerate literature search, outline development, and draft generation, applying rigorous scientific verification and fact-checking to all AI-assisted output before it advances in the review cycle
  • Attend professional conferences and events to capture presentation highlights and develop summary content for project deliverables; travel is less than 10 percent

What Sets You Apart

  • Advanced degree (MS, PhD) in a healthcare-related field such as life sciences or biomedical sciences, or a clinical degree (PharmD)
  • 2 or more years of medical writing experience in the medical communications industry
  • Familiarity with oncology subject matter across disease states and therapeutic areas
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, and InCopy
  • Familiarity with AI research and writing tools and a working understanding of how to apply them responsibly in a regulated, accuracy-critical environment
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to scientific accuracy and detail
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deliverables and timelines simultaneously

AI Capability Expectation

Candidates should be prepared to discuss how they currently use AI in their medical or scientific writing work. This includes:

  • Specific tools in active use and how they support literature search, outlining, draft development, or reference management
  • How you maintain scientific accuracy and verify AI-assisted output against primary literature before it enters the review cycle
  • How you navigate the appropriate use of AI in a regulated environment where FDA compliance, factual precision, and AMA style adherence are non-negotiable
  • Bonus: examples of AI-assisted workflows that improved research efficiency, draft quality, or turnaround time on complex oncology content

Compensation Range

$85,000 – $95,000 per year, depending on qualifications. Eligible for annual company bonus program or commission incentive based on role. Compensation will depend on factors including educational background, skills, and professional experience.
