ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Concorde Education partners with schools and community organizations to provide engaging enrichment programs that inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence, and lifelong learning.
We are seeking enthusiastic professionals with backgrounds in science, STEM, education, engineering, laboratory sciences, environmental science, or other related fields who are interested in providing instructional services for K–12 hands-on science enrichment programs.
Household Science programs introduce students to scientific concepts through fun, interactive experiments and activities using familiar, everyday materials. These programs are designed to make science approachable and exciting while encouraging students to experiment, ask questions, make predictions, and discover how science connects to the world around them.
This posting is intended to identify qualified professionals who may be considered for future independent contractor instructional assignments as opportunities become available.
POTENTIAL ASSIGNMENT AREAS
Depending on the specific school, age group, and program, instructional activities may explore topics such as:
Fun science experiments using everyday materials
Chemical reactions and changes
States of matter
Density, buoyancy, and surface tension
Acids, bases, and pH
Electricity and magnetism
Light, sound, and energy
Forces, motion, and simple machines
Weather and environmental science
Slime, polymers, and material science
Engineering and building challenges
Scientific observation and experimentation
The science behind common household objects and activities
Activities should be age-appropriate, engaging, and conducted with appropriate attention to classroom and student safety.
Specific curriculum, student age group, schedule, materials, and program expectations vary by assignment.
IDEAL BACKGROUNDS
Potential instructors may come from a variety of professional, educational, and academic backgrounds, including:
Science teachers or educators
STEM instructors
Biology, chemistry, physics, or environmental science backgrounds
Engineering or technology professionals
Laboratory or research backgrounds
Science museum or educational-program staff
After-school or summer-camp STEM instructors
College students or graduates studying science, engineering, education, or related fields
Professionals with experience leading hands-on science activities for children
Prior K–12 teaching experience is helpful but is not required for every assignment. Relevant professional, academic, scientific, or instructional experience may also be considered.
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
Successful instructors should be able to:
Make scientific concepts fun, understandable, and engaging for students
Lead hands-on experiments and activities in an organized manner
Explain the science behind experiments rather than simply demonstrating them
Encourage students to ask questions, make predictions, and explore ideas
Maintain appropriate classroom and activity safety
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Communicate professionally with students, school personnel, and Concorde Education
Arrive prepared and reliably fulfill accepted instructional assignments
INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR OPPORTUNITIES
Instructional opportunities are offered on an independent contractor basis and vary based on partner-school needs.
Submitting an application does not guarantee an assignment. Qualified applicants may be contacted when an opportunity becomes available that aligns with their background, location, availability, and the specific requirements of the program.
Assignment details, including schedule, location, instructional expectations, materials, and compensation, are provided for review before an instructor accepts an opportunity.
If you have a background in science, STEM, education, engineering, or hands-on learning and enjoy helping young people discover how much fun science can be, we encourage you to apply for consideration for upcoming instructional opportunities.
