Job Description:

The Vice President, Energy & Nuclear Infrastructure, is responsible for leading our portfolio of energy, nuclear, and advanced reactor infrastructure and environmental remediation programs for U.S. federal, allied, and commercial clients. This role owns the P&L and growth strategy for a global market that includes DOE, NNSA, all other U.S. Government (USG) clients, and various commercial clients supporting USG funded initiatives with the conventional and nuclear energy sectors.  The VP will partner closely with ES-wide service lines (Planning, Design & Engineering; PM/CM; Construction & D-B) and functional departments to deliver safe, compliant, and high-performing projects.

What You'll be Doing:

Market Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the Energy & Nuclear market strategy, aligned with the Infrastructure Solutions (IS) and Engineered Systems (ES) vision.
  • Develop multi-year growth plans across DOE, NNSA, national laboratories, utilities, and emerging advanced reactor clients.
  • Monitor market trends (policy, funding, regulatory, technology) to identify new opportunities and shape our solution offerings.
  • Lead key client relationships at senior levels; act as a trusted advisor to U.S. federal, allied, and commercial clients worldwide.

Business Development & Capture

  • Own revenue and profit growth targets for the Energy & Nuclear market.
  • Partner with BD/capture teams to identify, qualify, and prioritize pursuits, with a focus on higher-margin, strategic work at planned capture rates.
  • Oversee win strategies, teaming, pricing, and proposal development for major programs and IDIQs to ensure compelling offerings within the approved proposal budgets.
  • Coordinate cross-market and cross-sector pursuits when nuclear or energy infrastructure is a core component.

P&L and Portfolio Management

  • Deliver annual, quarterly, and monthly business performance metrics for the Energy & Nuclear portfolio, including, but not limited to, revenue, profit, margin, cash, and backlog.
  • Maintain a balanced portfolio across planning/design, PM/CM, and construction/D-B offerings, using ES-wide service lines, in accordance with strategic plans.
  • Actively manage risk profile, including regulatory, safety, environmental, and contractual risks.
  • Ensure portfolio visibility to enable deliberate pruning of low-margin or non-strategic work.

Delivery Excellence (in Partnership with Service Lines)

  • Set market-specific performance expectations for safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Work with Planning, Design & Engineering (PDE), PM/CM, and Construction & D-B leaders, as well as assigned functional department leads to identify, recruit, and deploy talent and capabilities to projects.
  • Ensure alignment with ES-wide standards, tools, and methods, while addressing nuclear and energy-specific requirements (e.g., nuclear safety, QA, security).
  • Oversee project delivery and intervene as necessary to resolve or escalate issues.

Talent & Culture

  • Build and lead a high-performing market leadership and delivery teams (e.g., portfolio managers, client account leads, bid managers, and program & project directors/managers).
  • Collaborate with ES-wide service lines to ensure sufficient and appropriately skilled and trained management and technical resources are available to successfully win and deliver nuclear and energy programs.
  • Promote a culture of safety, integrity, and compliance, especially in nuclear and security-conscious environments.
  • Support professional development, mentoring, and succession planning within the market.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in energy or nuclear infrastructure projects, with at least 7 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven experience managing large, complex programs for DOE, NNSA, utilities, or similar nuclear/energy clients.
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility with a track record of revenue growth and margin improvement.
  • Strong understanding of nuclear safety, licensing, QA, security, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and working in a matrix environment (market vs. service line).
  • Residing in the Northern Virginia, DC, Maryland area to support our customers and facilities or willingness to travel up to 50% to project sites.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS in Engineering or related) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with SMR/AMR, advanced fuel cycle, or nuclear modernization programs.
  • Active or prior security clearance, or ability to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated relationships with DOE, NNSA, national labs, and key industry partners.
