Audio Technician

The Audio Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio systems for events, activations, and installations. This onsite role requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and collaboration with production, creative, and lighting teams to ensure clear, high-quality sound delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, test, and operate audio equipment, including speakers, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, and digital sound systems.Collaborate with production and creative teams to implement audio designs according to specifications.Manage sound checks and adjust levels to ensure optimal audio quality for live events and activations.Troubleshoot technical audio issues onsite and implement solutions quickly to minimize disruptions.Maintain and organize audio equipment, cables, and accessories; perform routine equipment maintenance and report any faults.Assist in the teardown, transport, and storage of audio systems after events.Follow safety protocols when handling electrical equipment, rigging speakers, and working at heights.Train or assist junior audio staff, interns, or volunteers as needed.Ensure compliance with venue, regulatory, and company audio standards.Support multi-disciplinary technical teams during complex activations, including integration with lighting, video, and special effects systems.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; formal training in audio engineering, live sound, or related field preferred.2+ years of experience in audio setup, live events, theater, or experiential production.Knowledge of audio mixing consoles, signal flow, microphones, speakers, and amplification systems.Ability to read technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to fast-paced, high-pressure environments.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Physical ability to lift equipment, climb ladders or platforms, and work standing for extended periods.Willingness to travel and work onsite during events, often with flexible hours including evenings or weekends.Familiarity with digital audio workstations, wireless systems, and event software is a plus.Commitment to safety, including proper use of PPE and adherence to electrical protocols.Work Environment & ConditionsFully onsite role at event locations, activation sites, or installation venues.Exposure to loud noise, electrical equipment, cables, and dynamic event environments.Physically demanding: lifting heavy equipment, running cable, and standing for long periods.Flexible hours may be required, including nights, weekends, and travel depending on project schedules.Why Work at BMF?Play a key role in delivering immersive, high-impact experiences for major brands.Work closely with creative, production, and technical teams in a collaborative environment.Gain expertise in live sound, audio integration, and experiential production.Opportunities for advancement into senior audio or technical production roles.Be part of a company that values innovation, craftsmanship, and audience engagement.
