- Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Assists nurse with patients and family education.
- Documents and collects clinical data.
- Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient’s needs.
- Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nursing team.
- Other roles and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- CPR or BLS Certification
- Must be enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Nursing Program for the duration of employment.
- Must maintain enrollment in Nursing Program for the duration of employment as a Student Nurse Tech.
- This position is for nursing students only, if a student leaves the nursing program they are enrolled in for any reasons, they can no longer be a student nurse tech.
- Must have successfully completed 2 semesters of nursing clinicals, and completed a medical surgical course.
Skills/Abilities:
- Able to establish professional relationships with various health care workers
- Work cooperatively with others as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Work is of medium to heavy demand.
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- May be exposed to infectious diseases.
